Very good price-quality ratio, good location, beds equipped with little duvets as the nights can be cold and bathroom was cleaned everyday even if it was a small female dorm. The staff is also welcoming and helpful. Just a disclaimer, especially for the foreigners: book it only if you are very chill with people not respecting your boundaries, otherwise pay a little more for a private room. The girls inside the room were making late phone calls, had their phones on ring mode all the time… I do not know if it is cultural or not but I have not been able to make even a good night sleep on the four I spent there. There was also a group of Indian people being very noisy one evening while it was already past 11 and the management did not say anything. I am not going for dorms again in India as apparently following the basic rules that go with sharing a space are unknown to them.

Firstl things first - it's a nice property, with great rooms and very good staff. My problem is the expectations that have been set by The Hosteller when I've stayed with them in Kasol and in Goa. The one on Bhagsu has zero community feel to it. There are no hostel activities, there's no kitchen and hence, to call it a hostel in a misnormer. If you want a bed to sleep in, this is a good place, but don't expect a hostel vibe here.

LStayed at The Hosteller Bhagsu and had a smooth experience. Clean rooms, chill vibe, and a great place to meet fellow travelers. The location is perfect—quiet but still close to everything.Staff were helpful, and the overall energy of the place just feels easy and relaxed. Can get a bit lively at times, but that’s part of the hostel scene.Good stay overall, would come back.

I stayed at The Hosteller’s Bhagsu property in McLeodganj, and honestly, it was a really solid experience. The location is a big win — close enough to everything but still peaceful, with that mountain vibe you actually come here for.
