The Hosteller Mcleodganj, Bhagsu Waterfall

This was my 1st visit to the Hosteller and it was below average. We booked two separate rooms, the rooms were clean and well equipped with all the necessities. Since it was a hostel, we expected a better environment. We skipped hotels and books a hostel for the same. Evenings were dead at the hostel. The common area looks scary after sunset. There’s no lighting, no music, no food. Yeah, the hostel doesn’t offer food of any kind. We had to go out everytime (good thing, food spots were near by). Later in the night I was out w my friends for a walk right outside the hostel and got cat called (not blaming the hostel here) just sharing the environment part. Again, the place is decent but we had so much more expectations.About the staff, extremely kind and welcoming. Probably they are the only ones keeping the place alive.

Really like the experience here. Staff is really helpful like Mr. Sharan on the front desk explained everything nicely. Guided us to explore near by. Staff is always ready to help, polite and kind. Really liked the property and the experience here. Would suggest strongly to backpackers to experience stay there.

I stayed at this property during peak tourist season and found the experience to be quite average overallOne thing future guests should be aware of is the location. The hostel is situated directly above the Bhagsu taxi stand, which makes the area very noisy throughout the day. If you’re looking for a peaceful mountain stay, especially during busy tourist periods, this may not be the best choice.The property itself felt quite dated and worn compared to the photos shown online. The common areas and facilities did not match my expectations based on the listing.Another disappointment was the lack of an in-house cafe. Most Hosteller properties I have stayed at previously had a cafe, so I was surprised that this one did not.My biggest issue, however, was with the staff interaction. The front desk advertises assistance with local recommendations, activities, and bike/scooty rentals. When I asked a staff member where I could rent a scooty, I was met with a dismissive response along the lines of, ’Do you think it’s my job to find it for you? Go find it yourself.’ This felt unnecessarily rude and was not the kind of hospitality I expected.Overall, the stay was not terrible, but it fell well below my expectations for a Hosteller property. The location, condition of the property, and customer service were the main reasons for my dissatisfaction

I stayed here for over a week. I spent the first few nights in the women’s dorm, and then I booked a private room for two nights. The rooms were great - especially the dorms, which were clean and comfortable. The staff was always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hostel/hotel. I also highly recommend Bhagsu. It’s located right between the other two places, so both were easily accessible on foot.

Had a wonderful stay at The Hosteller Baghsu. The location is perfect, surrounded by beautiful mountain views and just a short walk from Baghsu attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the overall vibe was relaxed and welcoming. Great place to meet fellow travelers while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the hills. Would definitely stay here again! Mukesh Kumar was really helpful to guide us through the trip.
