Hotel Sunshine Dharamshala

Room service is extremely unsatisfactory. Cleanliness and essential items like towels and toiletries are only provided after multiple requests. The breakfast and dinner buffet quality is poor. Room 502 lacks a kettle, so there is no tea or coffee kit. The clock in the deluxe room is not working, and no space or food is offered to cab drivers. Across the road opposite the hotel is a cremation ground by the river, and the staff are very rude.

This is the worst hotel to stay at in Dharamshala. The staff are unnecessarily rude, and the rooms are infested with bugs and insects. When you report this, the staff just say, 'hum kya kre is mai.' The rooms also have serious leakage problems. Their so-called Deluxe rooms don't even have a mirror. A staff member named Akshay is particularly rude and lacks basic manners; I don't understand how he is employed there. When I asked for a coffee kit and toiletries, he responded rudely, questioning why I couldn't ask for everything at once instead of calling repeatedly. The food is terrible, lacking flavor and spices. At breakfast, I asked for coffee since I don't drink tea, and Akshay said coffee isn't included in the buffet and would cost extra, asking if I could pay for it. Who does he think he is to say that? Then, without informing me, he made three cups of coffee and served them as if doing me a favor. The coffee tasted awful; even a two-year-old could make better coffee. The only thing I liked was the view from the hotel. Please don't waste your hard-earned money here. This was the worst experience of my life and ruined my entire vacation.

IF YOU WANT A PLACE THAT IS VERY SERENE WITH RIVER SOUND FLOWING JUST IN FRONT AND A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF DHAULADHAR RANGE, THIS HOTEL IS YOUR HAS TO BE YOUR GO TO SPOT. iTS AFFORDABLE AND CONVENIENT FOREVERONE. THE STAFF IS HUMBLE AND KIND AND THEIR HOSPITALITY IS TOP NOTCH. BOTH AKSHAY AND KAMAL JI HAD HELPED ME IN EVERY WAY THAT WAS POSSIBLE. IF I AM EVER BACK IN DHARMSHALA, I AM CHOOSING HOTEL SUNSHINE AS MY GO TO PLACE.

The manager should be replaced.

I stayed here just as a transit stop from Dharmsala to Dalhousie, booking through MakeMyTrip based on a friend's suggestion. Upon arriving in Dharamsala, I found out that a taxi to the hotel bus stop costs 500/-, but there is a nearby bus stop where the fare is only Rs 20/- and it drops you right on the bridge, just 50 meters from the hotel. If you have a lot of luggage, a taxi is the best option despite the high off-season charges. I called the number on Google, and the manager was friendly and helped me with directions, considering I was traveling alone. The hotel features a lawn with chairs and swings by the riverside, offering a beautiful mountain view. The rooms are cozy, and I really liked the place. I ordered Veg Thukpa, which was tasty. My experience was good until the next day when a staff member named Akshay behaved rudely toward my guest in the reception lounge, asking if he had permission to enter the hotel property in a harsh tone. Anyone can meet guests at the reception, and no hotel staff should speak like that. I deducted two stars solely because of the staff's behavior, and the management did not address it. Sometimes the problem is not the place but how the staff treats guests and visitors.
