The Malabar Beach Resort

We had a wonderful stay at this resort. The property is beautifully maintained, and the overall ambiance was very relaxing and pleasant. The staff provided excellent service throughout our stay, making the experience even more enjoyable.A special mention to Mr. Hari and his team for taking such good care of us during our stay. Their hospitality and attentiveness truly stood out. Mr. Sunil, the owner, was also present on the premises until dusk every day and was always available to assist if we needed anything, which made the experience feel very warm and welcoming.One of the highlights was the breakfast ’ it was absolutely captivating with a great variety and delicious food.The resort is conveniently located right next to the beach, giving easy access at any time of the day. The beach itself was very clean and well maintained, which added a lot to the experience.A couple of things to note: guests need to carry their own toiletries, as they are not provided by the resort. Also, tea/coffee sachets are not available inside the rooms, though fresh tea and coffee are provided in the kitchen area.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place for a peaceful beachside getaway.

Rooms are decent enough but their service is pathetic. Top rate is proximity to beach.. easy access to nice and calm beach. If resort restaurant can be managed better it has really good potential to hold back customers. Premises is well maintained

Beautiful clean & well Maintained resort. If you are looking for a get away, this place is really good. Opp to resort is the beach. Serene, clean and beautiful. Owner Sunil is very helpful and staff is very friendly. Thanks to manager Hari for his quick responses. If you are in Kannur, will definitely recommend this resort. U will not be disappointed.

Pros:’Great location with easy beach access’Beach is clean, peaceful, and not crowded ’ big plus’Rooms are small but decent’Overall location is the biggest advantage of this propertyCons:’Very poor service ’ you have to ask for everything’No phone in the room, so you need to walk to reception every time’Reception and dining are combined, and often unmanned ’ you’ll end up knocking or searching for staff’Once you request something, expect long delays’Basic bathroom amenities missing (no conditioner, moisturizer, toothbrush, or toothpaste)’Only cheap ’1 shampoo sachets provided, plus a questionable shampoo dispenser’Bathroom exhaust fan not working’Housekeeping is extremely poor ’ room not cleaned for 2 days, bed not made, towels not changed’No kettle or tea/coffee setup in the room’Water bottle is not complimentary despite expectations’No iron box providedOverall:For a price of around ’32,000 for two rooms, the experience is disappointing. The location and beach are excellent, but the poor service, lack of basic amenities, and housekeeping issues make it feel overpriced and poorly managed. With better service and maintenance, this place could be much better ’ but in its current state, it does not justify the cost.

We stopped at The Malabar Beach Resort on our way to Kerala. There are a few points that are a hit and a few points that can be improved.Pros:- The resort is right outside the beach. So a great place to relax and enjoy with your family on a long weekend.- The public area of the resort is well maintained. It's not a huge place there r limited villas but it's a cozy place to stay and unwind.- They r building a swimming pool so incase you don't want to swim in the sea and prefer a swimming pool (maybe..)- the food is good. Tastes amazing- It's pet friendly- Ease of check in and check out- staff is amazing and helpful- there is ample of parking space in the premisesCons (scope for improvement):- we had booked a pet friendly room (they have kept two rooms in the premises for people travelling with pets) it kinda smelled bad. I guess the room cleaning could be better. It smelled of dog urine and it was a bit disturbing to sleep. We did notify about it and we asked for room freshner but that didn't really help much. We had to spend the night for our travel the next day so we had to make do with what we had.- the AC didn't cool very well. I guess it either needed servicing and the smell in the room with the AC not working in full potential was a bit difficult.- The approach road is extremely narrow around 1 km or so. If you drive an SUV then you can barely drive through but if there is another car or bike that comes from the opposite direction then you are stuck (which happend in our case)- overall maintaince of the rooms and bathroom can be better.- we had to leave the next day at 6am unfortunately there was no hot water for bath. We did inform the team even a day prior but they said hot water is available unfortunately we didn't get it so there was no solution, we had to take a cold shower in the early morning- Breakfast starts at 8-8:30 am so we couldn't have breakfast as we had to leave early but I feel breakfast can start at atleast 7 as there are people who do eat an early breakfast.- Also dinner is at 8-8:30 pm it you are someone who eats early dinner then you'd have to wait.Over all my family enjoyed the stay there are a few points that can be improved. The owner Sunil is really helpful and assisted with our pre-booking to check-out. The staff is also extremely helpful and understanding. I did see a few foreign tourists, families and couples. So it's a family friendly place incase you are in Kannur and want to enjoy sometime on the beach.
