Hotel Malabar Residency

My experience at Malabar Residency, Kannur, was extremely disappointing. The staff, including the manager, were rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional.I had booked and paid for a Superior Double Room advertised as 291 sq. ft., but was instead given a very small, poorly maintained, and bad-smelling room directly opposite the lift. When I requested the room I had actually booked and paid for, my request was rudely rejected, and I was told to leave if I was not willing to accept the room provided.Even after contacting Agoda customer support and waiting on the line for more than 30 minutes, I received no meaningful assistance. Ultimately, I was forced to leave the hotel without any reimbursement or refund.This was a completely unacceptable approach to a paying guest. Based on this experience, I would not stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is conveniently situated near Kannur Railway Station, making it a good choice for travelers. The rooms are clean, but there's a notable size difference between the single and double rooms; singles are quite small, whereas doubles are much roomier. Given the small price difference of about ₹200-300, the double room provides better value. The rates are somewhat high relative to what is offered. Breakfast is average and could use improvement in both quality and variety. The staff service was underwhelming, lacking in hospitality and promptness. Overall, the hotel suits a brief stay due to its prime location, but it's advisable to pay a bit more for a double room instead of a single.
