The Ummed Ahmedabad Airport

Absolutely pathetic service. Avoid this hotel like the plague if you want good rest and peace of mind.This hotel has absolutely no SOP for any of its departments and is staffed with incompetent people across various departmentsThe room service order takers are incompetent beyond words. I had placed n order with tooom service for dinner to be delivered at at 11 pm since I have. Night duty assignment.The order was delivered promptly at 8:30 pm while I was asleep with a DND on the room. The person delivering the order kept knocking incessantly 3 to 4 times so I had no choice but to wake up. Furthermore the order was entirely wrong and the person insisted that the order was placed from my room.There is no sanctity of the DND in this hotel.I called to speak with the room service manager 3 times and was told he would call back. No such luck given the level of unprofessional in this hotel. The Restaurant manager Yogender has no clue what his staff is up to.Reception has no answer and is completely useless.Looks like everyone here is hired off the streets with no training in hospitality.

As we are attending a wedding reception in Anand the previous day in Feb 2026 and leave for Mumbai (for onward journey to the US) at 9 PM from Ahmedabad the next day, we were looking for a day room near the airport to relax for some time. When I looked up on their website, I didn't find any availability. When I called the hotel, the lady that picked up the phone said I need to talk to Anurag Tomar, who supposedly is a sales manager. When I called him once, he didn't pick up the phone. When I called him again later, he sounded quite annoyed. When I asked for the day room, he first screened me as if I am trying to use for quick sex. (Local ID not accepted. What city are you coming from and going to? Etc.) Is someone going to plan for that more than 4 months in advance? Are you serious? Then, he asked me to send all my details on WhatsApp to his mobile number. He also demanded Rs. 7,000 upfront deposit. When I told him that he should be able book the room with the credit card on file, he again hung up. I sent him the details last night, but till now, he has not even read the message, let alone take care of it. All along, his communication was rude and mannerless. Is that how the manager of a 5-star hotel behaves? Why is there no availability online but when I call him, there is availability? When I called the hotel number, why can't anyone over there check and do the booking? FYI. I already have a home in Ahmedabad but no one lives there because I and my entire extended family lives in the US. I believe it would be better to just get it cleaned in advance and spend a few hours there, rather than dealing with such unprofessional people.

I am generally a loyal customer and go to this hotel regularly. I feel finding new hotel is generally a hassle. Today the breakfast experience was not good. The staff trying to avoid eye contact then how to ask help? I have to go to him and tell. Manager at place so that he cannot be found ’’ and again avoiding face. I normally don’t criticise but they need real overhaul so that they stand their old earned name.

The waiters were rude, careless, and completely untrained in basic hospitality.Overall, this hotel fails in every area: service, cleanliness, facilities, and food. It is a waste of money and time. I would strongly advise everyone to avoid this place.And Yes, if you book do not expect services of more than 2 star hotels.

It was a great stay at The Ummed I really enjoyed the food and the services and the front office team gave a smooth check-in and a warm welcome. Though this trip was for 1 day, we will visit again for a few more days.
