It was a nice stay for us. Staff were extremely helpful. Ambience was great. Have received mementos as a nice gesture. There are certain challenges. Location is remote with no shops nearby. Wifi was not available. Food is very expensive and they charge 18% GST. For 1 person food cost will be 800/- to 900/- for just one plate Roti and 1 non veg side dish.
The rooms were acceptable, but the bathrooms were not satisfactory. We booked three rooms, and in one of them, the toilet seat was loose. Although the hotel location is listed as Dharamshala, locals told us it is actually in Kangra.

Group • Jul 2026I stayed at Tree of Life Birdsong Chalets on a recent visit to Dharamshala, and it was a wonderful experience overall. The location stands out the most — nestled among deodar trees, tranquil, and far from the usual tourist crowds. Waking up each morning to the sound of birds and views of the mountains made the trip worthwhile. The chalets are nicely designed, cozy, and have a rustic feel while still offering essential comforts. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food at the on-site restaurant was fresh, delicious, and featured good local flavors. The only downside was the connectivity. The WiFi was slow and unreliable during my stay, and the mobile signal in the area is also weak, making it difficult to stay connected with work or family. If you require dependable connectivity, plan accordingly. Otherwise, it’s a peaceful retreat ideal for those wanting to unplug for a few days. I would suggest it for couples or families seeking a calm, nature-focused stay rather than a busy itinerary.
