Location and building were good overall. However, the road leading to the hotel is in poor condition — it's a one-way road with several unmetalled (unpaved) stretches, which becomes quite scary to drive on during heavy rain. Some spots along the way felt genuinely dangerous.On the food side, the quality was good, but options were limited. When we asked for specific dishes or substitutions, we were told certain ingredients weren't available, so we often ended up with only one dish to choose from. Food and drinks were also on the pricier side.Overall, a decent stay let down mainly by the difficult access road and limited food flexibility.
Enjoyed a wonderful stay at _Short By, kareri, Dharamshala_! Arrived late in the evening with my wife and our 2-year-old daughter. The staff was very helpful and ensured we felt totally safe, despite being the only family present. Strongly suggest this place for a cozy and secure experience!

Family • Jul 2026The location is excellent and convenient, with reasonable prices. Most importantly, it's very close to Ghera village, easily accessible on foot. Overall, it's a good place to stay before the Kareri trek. The staff was quite cooperative, and food was available at affordable prices. The only issues were the wifi not working properly and the absence of towels, soap, and other items. Otherwise, everything was good.
