Norbu House ’ Kindness in the HillsNorbu House has long been one of the familiar hotels in Dharamsala. Newer places have come up, but it still holds its strengths ’ clean, well-kept rooms, good views, and food that is always dependable.Prices are not cheap, but for this trip I chose a large room. It gave me the space to properly rest, and also to begin each day with my morning prayers. That made it worth it.The slope leading to the hotel is tougher for me these days, the daily walking up and down the slope can be a bit of a challenge, and the open space in front has sadly disappeared to make way for new construction. Yet what makes Norbu House special is not the building, but the people.After my duty as emcee for the evening cultural performance, I returned late to the hotel without having had time for dinner. The kitchen had already closed. Yet Mr. Wangdu and his daughter still went out of their way to prepare a plate of fried noodles for me at 10.30pm.A simple plate of noodles, but an act of kindness that I will always remember. By far the best hotel in Dharamshala. The rooms are clean and spacious and have phenomenal views of the Kangra Valley. The property is also in close proximity to everything you need to access in McLeod Ganj. The owner and his family are so nice and hospitable and make it feel like this is your home away from home. Amazing experience and can't recommend the hotel highly enough.

Overall a very pleasant experience. Service was polite and courteous. We had room #201 which was a comfortable suite. The linen was fresh and clean. Breakfast is served till 10am and was adequate though fresh bread would be preferred.

The hotel is centrally located near the market. Very clean rooms and polite staff. The view from premium plus rooms are very good. Just near the Dalai Lama temple. Food is good giving a taste of Home cooked meals. Overall a very good property.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The room was spotless’very clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The food was excellent: delicious and well-prepared, and the view from the hotel was absolutely stunning.
