When we checked into our room, it was not properly cleaned. We immediately informed the staff and requested housekeeping, but no action was taken, and the room remained in the same condition.There is no valet parking, no shuttle service, and no proper guidance for guests regarding local sightseeing or transportation. These are basic services one expects from a premium hotel.The manager at the reception lacked basic hospitality etiquette. He was mostly sitting on his chair, busy on phone calls, and appeared uninterested in attending to guests. There was no visible supervision or control over the staff.We left for Kainchi Dham at around 4:30 AM, and to our surprise, there was no one at the reception. We had to open the main entrance ourselves, and there was no security guard at the main gate, raising serious concerns about guest safety and security.The breakfast service was poorly managed. Only one staff member was handling the entire dining area, resulting in slow service. We had to repeatedly remind the staff to refill food items and attend to basic requests.Although the hotel has an activity room, it looked like it had not been maintained or used for a long time. The room felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, and even the carrom board was covered in dust. It was not a place where families or children would want to spend time.The property is not kids-friendly despite advertising recreational facilities. The lack of maintenance and attention to guest experience was evident throughout our stay.Overall, the service, cleanliness, management, amenities, and security were far below expectations. Instead of feeling like a premium ITC WelcomHeritage property, the experience felt more like staying in an average guesthouse. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving housekeeping, hospitality, guest services, maintenance, and security to match the reputation of the ITC brand.

Overall, service, cleanliness, management, amenities, and security were well below expectations. Instead of feeling like a premium ITC WelcomHeritage hotel, it felt more like an average guesthouse. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves housekeeping, hospitality, guest services, maintenance, and security to live up to the ITC brand's reputation.

We went for dinner, but the menu items we wanted were not available.

Generally a positive experience. The breakfast buffet could be enhanced by adding a wider variety of fruits, sprouts, and appetizers, as well as quicker table service by hiring additional staff. The children's play area could be greatly improved with more rides and gym park equipment. The surroundings were scenic and had a rustic charm. Room service was timely on most occasions.

I stayed in this property for 2 nights from 6th to 8th June with my small family. Sylvan surroundings, away from hustle-bustle, building that resembles colonial charm, praise-worthy cleanliness, prompt service and above all sumptuous food are the best features of this property. It is a boutique hotel that means ...it is not in the league of Radisson, Ramadas of the world. Having travelled to many properties across India in last 16 years - I classify this as neither a 3-star (because of afore-mentioned qualities) nor a 4-star (because of limited facilities viz. non-existence of wellness Spa, Children/ guest engagement activities, swimming pool isn't permitted in Nainital - thats what they told me!). It is a 3.5-star kinda property. Property is well-maintained and seriously beautiful but minus any modern look. By, the way it is a 'converted' property ...as it is one of the oldest buildings of Nainital (1860) which is converted to a boutique hotel by the owners.FO Manager, Mr. Ranjeet Kanwal leads an oustanding team. Hotel Manager Mr. Umesh pandey was courteous and is a treasure trove of info about Kumaun. People in F&B - Mr. Mohan, and Ramesh ji attended to us very nicely and displayed promptness and understanding of our needs as far as food is concerned. Nandan & Dheeraj in kitchen understood our family's taste-buds and Kumaoni Chicken, Dal and white-sauce pasta were awesome! Geeta ji, Rohit ji, Nandan ji and Gopal ji inHouse-keeping were very service-oriented and prompt in response.If they work on afore-mentioned short-comings, it will become most sought-after property of Nainital than just being one of the best properties.A word to the owners (of royal lineage) - collection of photographs on each floor and furniture was just wow!Good luck to them.
