Enjoyed the stay at zostel. Friendly staff and hospitality was on point. However the room i stayed in, the shower was broken and no alternative room offered. I used shared shower which wasnt an issue but would have preferred to have a room change as thats what i paid for. The rest was ok. Needs improvement. QR ordering system disconnects the human experiance. Would have like more explanations to certain aspects i.e. wifi, alternative options and washing clothes. All in all would recommend 3/5.
Best place in Srinagar for bagpackers and solo travellers. There are other hostels as well. I tried them all, but nothing beats Zostel in terms of vibes and people and social interactions. Staff is very kind. Food is okayish in the cafe. Rooms are good and clean and common area is where I spent most of my time. Met amazing people and ended up booking most of stay here. Location is a bit far from the city but also is closer to all the gardens and the dal lake. And you can easily get a shared taxi right outside the Zostel that can take you to the Lal chownk in just 35 rs. Location is actually the best in terms of quiet, serenity and evening and late night walks.
