The hotel is securely located close to many attractions. Facilities and services are excellent. Food is good, buffet breakfast has varied delicious options. We enjoyed our stay in Srinagar.
I recently stayed at Golden Tulip Srinagar and, unfortunately, I did not find it to be good value for money. We paid around 8,000–9,000 per night, but the overall experience did not justify the price.The rooms were decent and reasonably clean, and the bedsheets were fresh and well-maintained. However, the rooms felt quite small, and the property did not meet the standards one would expect from a hotel in this price range. The washroom, in particular, was disappointing, with damaged tiles coming off in places and a general lack of upkeep.The biggest letdown was the breakfast experience. The restaurant appeared to be severely understaffed, with perhaps only one person managing the dining area and another handling the live kitchen counter. Service was slow, and basic arrangements were poorly managed. There were times when plates, glasses, and other essentials were unavailable, creating unnecessary inconvenience for guests.The food itself was underwhelming, and much of it was served cold. Even the seating arrangement was chaotic. The staff at the entrance seemed unsure about table availability, and guests were left standing and waiting for tables to become free on their own rather than being properly guided or accommodated.Overall, while the hotel had clean beds and acceptable rooms, the maintenance issues, poor breakfast service, understaffing, and lack of organization made the stay disappointing. Given the price charged, I expected a significantly better experience. In its current condition, I would not consider it a good value-for-money option in Srinagar. I’d rate it 2.5/5 stars based on your experience.
The name has changed. The sarovar portico has moved and the golden tulip hotel has not changed their name. We wasted an hour driving here and then back to the airport road because of this
