Indian Railways has recently released the full list of 40 new ‘clone’ trains that will begin service from September 21.

The booking for these trains will begin from TODAY. Passengers can book them conveniently on ixigo.
The 40 new trains will help clear the rush of waitlisted passengers on major routes such as Darbhanga-New Delhi, Bandra(T)-Amritsar, Muzaffarpur-New Delhi, Ahmedabad-Patna, Secunderabad-Danapur, Vasco-Nizamuddin, Surat-Chhapra and many others.

IRCTC Train TicketThe advanced reservation period (ARP) for these new trains is 10 days. They will run in addition to the 310 passenger trains already in service. While 19 pairs of Clone Special trains will run by utilizing Humsafar trains, one pair, the Lucknow-Delhi Clone special, shall run as Jan Shatabdi Express.
Clone trains is a new scheme introduced by the Railways to relieve waitlisted passengers. If there are a large number of waitlisted passengers on a particular train, a clone train will be operated on its route with the same number.
Passengers on the waiting list will be informed about their seats on the clone train after reservation charts of the original train are released, or four hours before the departure. Read more details about the clone train scheme.
