Location was great. Staff was very helpful. Fun stay. Breakfast is lavish and the room was very clean and spacious. Pool was not very clean on day 1 but they cleaned it immediately on request.
I’ve tried at least 3 hotels in Pondy and so far Grand Hotel D' Europe gave me the best value for the money. Clean interior, consistent AC and power, very little mosquitos. I also like the little chairs outside the rooms. There is a pool as well although I find it weird that it’s more of translucent green rather than a transparent blue.
Nice property, artfully decorated, room was clean and comfortable, and reception staff was helpful. However, breakfast was not good, very limited fixed options, could not accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions and tiny portions of fresh fruit/vegetables. Restaurant management could definitely be better
