Hotel Jem Valley Kodaikanal

This hotel is beautifully situated on a hill with great rooms. However, the service is very poor. In the morning, hot water is not available promptly. The food in their restaurant lacked hygiene. The location is excellent though. Booking and canceling a room was difficult, and despite the inadequate service, they refused to cancel the room or provide a refund when requested.

I enjoyed my stay here very much, with good service and friendly staff, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The only downside is that the food is good quality but somewhat pricey.

Very Disappointing Stay ’ Not Family FriendlyOur experience at this property was extremely disappointing. The approach road to the stay is very narrow, congested and in poor condition, making it difficult to reach the property comfortably.The biggest issue was the parking. The parking area has a very steep slope, and it is extremely difficult for a normal car to access. With a full family and luggage, a regular car may struggle badly, and there is a genuine risk of putting unnecessary stress on the vehicle. A proper 4WD-type vehicle would be much more suitable for the access.What made the experience worse was the attitude and behaviour of the staff/management when we arrived. Considering the difficult access and parking situation, we expected better assistance and proper arrangements, but the facilities provided were not at all convenient for a family.If you are travelling with family, especially in a normal sedan/hatchback, I would strongly recommend checking the road access and parking conditions before booking. The property should clearly inform guests about these limitations instead of leaving them to discover the problems only after arriving.Overall, very disappointing experience and definitely not a family-friendly stay in terms of accessibility, parking and service.

We enjoyed a lovely 2-day visit at Jem Valley Resort in Kodaikanal. Our Deluxe Room was cozy, tidy, and ideal for a restful break. The resort's most striking feature is its amazing scenic setting. The views are stunning, and the tranquil environment is perfect for relaxing and connecting with nature. The service was outstanding, with staff who were very friendly, polite, and always willing to assist, enhancing our experience. There is also a badminton court, which added some fun to our stay as we spent time playing there. The only slight drawback was the restaurant's limited menu due to the off-season, so we couldn't sample many dishes. Still, the overall stay was wonderful. In summary, we had a memorable experience and would highly recommend Jem Valley Resort to anyone seeking a calm retreat with beautiful views, great hospitality, and a soothing ambiance in Kodaikanal.
