Hotel Maratha Regency

Had booked through Agoda, about 2 month advance, on arrival we were welcome by informing that no rooms available entire hotel sold out, had a hot argument afte words about 2 to 3 hours later they provided the rooms, had requested for latge king size bed, offered twin bed, no kettle, no tea or coffee sachets, no WiFi, overall experience horrible, will not advice / suggest this hotel, Every time for last sixteen years whenever I visit Kolhapur I normally used to stay in this hotel but this time I had a horrible experience this time, will never stay in this hotel in future

I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at Maratha Regency.I had a confirmed booking from 16th February to 17th February through MakeMyTrip, yet when I arrived at 7:15 AM, I was asked to pay an additional ’1000 + GST for early check-in. The official check-in time is 12 PM, which I understand ’ but demanding such an unreasonable extra charge without any flexibility or basic courtesy is completely unacceptable.The most disappointing part was the attitude of the management. Despite requesting multiple times and explaining the situation, the staff repeatedly hid behind ’management policy’ instead of offering any practical solution. It felt like they were taking advantage of guests’ helplessness ’ knowing very well that no traveler can realistically wait 5 hours in the lobby after an early morning arrival.There was no empathy, no customer-first approach, and absolutely no effort to accommodate a genuine request. Hospitality is about service and understanding, not exploiting policies for additional revenue.This experience reflects poorly on the hotel’s management and customer handling standards. I would strongly advise future travelers to reconsider before booking here, especially if you have early arrival plans. Transparency, flexibility, and basic courtesy are severely lacking.Very disappointing and not recommended.

We visited this place with our family on January 26. Before booking, we explored many options, and we found this hotel to be very comfortable. The hotel has sufficient parking space and is located within a 3 to 4 km radius of Mahalaxmi Temple. Auto-rickshaws are easily available, and the hotel security staff also helps in arranging them.The hotel is situated on the inner side of the main road, which makes it quiet and away from pollution. We got a good deal for a three-day stay. The rooms have 24-hour hot water. The complimentary breakfast was very good with a wide spread, including misal, upma, dosa, boiled eggs, medu wada, omelette, bread and butter, fruits, and tea/coffee.The staff was very polite and helpful.They also have a restaurant where you can order food. However, I found it a bit expensive, and the food was average.Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay.
