Hotel Southern Grand

My name is Arun Kumar. I stayed at The Southern Grand Hotel, Vijayawada from 7th November 2025 to 11th November 2025 during an official visit. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to unfair charges and unprofessional behavior from the staff.I had requested a late checkout of 6 hours and agreed to pay extra for those hours. However, I was charged the full 24-hour room rate (’5,500), which is unreasonable for just a few hours of extended stay.Additionally, during checkout, I was charged ’800 for a minor stain from pomegranate juice on the bedsheet. I believe this is part of normal housekeeping service, and such excessive charges reflect poor customer service.Overall, I found the staff behavior rude and unhelpful. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I hope the management reviews their policies to treat customers more fairly in the future.Best regards,A. Arun Kumar

We had a very bad experience. Hotel people should understood what is hygiene is. Rooms were so bad. Handwash sink was broken. Rooms were smelling very badly and on the bed there were lot of hairs and bed were stained. One more imp one there is one old person in reception he is so rude with everyone including other lady receptionist and lies to customers do not address customers query. Breakfast idly was served not fresh it was a day old and vada was also old other food I didn’t tried as it was not good to try don’t fall for building look from outside. Alert do not fall for fake good reviews

Overall its okay for the price you are paying.We booked online at ~approx Rs. 1600 with breakfast for a night during transit.The major pros are-Within Budget good option- In house restaurant and Food Price is decent- Rooms are okay with basic amenities available.The major cons are- Parking, since hotel is situated in narrow lanes(though we got basement parking)- Breakfast was okay but can be improvedRecommended if you are looking in budget and can stay within the city and drive through the narrow lanes.

The hotel is situated close to the railway station. The room was good, but they did not provide mineral water; instead, they kept two small bottles of RO water. Basic toiletries were also not provided. I would not recommend opting for the MAP plan, as the options were very limited. I had a very bad experience with dinner, and it seemed there was a lack of communication among the staff, as I was initially charged for my MAP stay, which was later resolved. The breakfast menu was limited but good. Overall, it was an average experience. Sorry to say, but I will not stay here again.

I was not satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The bed sheets were not changed, which is a basic expectation for cleanliness. The doormat provided was in very poor condition and looked unhygienic. On top of that, the shampoo and body wash offered were of very cheap quality, not at all suitable for a hotel stay. Overall, the management should seriously improve their standards of cleanliness and amenities.
