Hotel Udaigarh

A great stay can explore almost entire old city area on foot . Great Staff especially Mukesh helped us a lot during our trip . Very Helpful and polite staff and amazing view from their rooftop restaurant.

I foolishly booked for "deluxe" room, at higher price lured by elusive bedside sofa for lounging that you would see in the images. What a colossal scam!! Upon check-in, we were given a cramped standard room that reeked of neglect and false advertising. Horrified, we confronted the smug front-desk, pointing out the blatant mismatch. Their response? A stonewall of excuses and outright denial, insisting this hovel is "deluxe room" only. We wasted a soul-sucking 30 minutes in a heated standoff, voices rising as their indifference only grew thicker. No apologies, no upgrades. Their attitude during these "We don't care" as now a days it is peak season. Exhausted and desperate not to ruin our entire vacation and mood, we finally moved in standard room.But the humiliations didn't end there. Eager for a simple evening snack with that hyped-up lake-view rooftop restaurant (the very gimmick that suckered me into booking this fleabag), we were turned away like we are nothing. they told that "all tables are reserved," for some "XYZ" people, code for flocks of rowdy foreigners who l stay nearby hostels by tour managers, who flock here for the views. Apparently, these outsiders get the red-carpet treatment because they flash bigger tips. Meanwhile, loyal paying guests like us, especially families with kids, are treated like second-class trash if you are staying means you are already scammed. Who needs your business when tips from transient drunks line their pockets?This was the worst travel experience in my entire life. Do not book for a good location. There are many other good hotels around.

Very beautiful location, view from the rooftop is extraordinary. Swimmingpool is small but the view is great. Staff are all very friendly and helpful, Rooms are clean and nicely decorated

This was our second visit to Hotel Udaigarh after 2015. We chose to come back mainly for the beautiful Lake Pichola view from the rooftop restaurant. Not much has changed over the years except they’ve now added an elevator, which is a nice improvement. The stay was pleasant, and the food and ambience were both good. The only downside is that the terrace opens only after 8 AM, so you miss the early morning lake view. A lot has changed in the surrounding area — cars are no longer allowed, so you have to take an autorickshaw from Sitala Mata Gate and then walk about 200–300 meters. The hotel staff are helpful and will send someone to carry your luggage if needed.

The hotel and room were very good and as expected and the service was very good. The food was also very good and had variety of options in the in-house restaurant. The hotel also has rooftop restaurant that has great views of Lake Pichola. It also has the swimming pool on the rooftop. Although, since it is in the Old city and on narrow lane parking for 4-wheeler can be a problem.
