A Safe & Soulful Stay for a Solo Traveler - Right on the Ghats! ’’I stayed in Dvivedi Hotels Palace on Steps as a solo female traveler, and I cannot thank the staff enough for making my Kashi trip so safe and comfortable.Location: The hotel is perfectly located right on the Ghats, just 5 minutes from Dashashwamedh. Since the gullies are extremely narrow (no cabs/autos enter here), be prepared to walk, but that is the true essence of Kashi!Service & Safety: This was the highlight. The manager was proactive even before I arrived, arranging a cab for my airport pickup with a stop at Varad Hanumanji Mandir, and ensuring a porter picked up my luggage from Sonarpura.A special shoutout to Kamlesh Sharma, he was a guardian angel! Since I started my days at 4:00 AM, I was initially skeptical about walking the dark gullies alone. Kamlesh ji woke up at 4:15 AM every single day to walk me to the main road and didn't leave until I was safely in a rickshaw. For a solo woman, this support is priceless.Rooms & Food: The rooms were comfortable with all necessary amenities (24/7 hot water, fresh linens, kettle). When I fell sick, they even provided a heater immediately. The view of the Ghat from the balcony is spectacular! The in-house food feels just like home-cooked meals, don't miss the Chai.If you have patience for the narrow lanes, the hospitality here makes up for everything else. I will definitely stay here again.Har Har Mahadev! ’’’’

The hotel has its pros and cons!The location is awesome because you can see the Ganges river from your window. On the other hand, it is impossible to reach the hotel by car. Luckily, the hotel officials can reach you and help you to bring luggage, within a maximum 15 minutes walk.The hotel is placed in an ancient palace, with old fashioned doors. This also means that the structure is old and the room looks with a bit lower standard, even compared to other Indian hotels I stayed at. However, the shower worked perfectly with hot water too, necessary in winter.The hotel service is very good, with people very kind and always ready to help you. In particular, you need to ask them to change your bath towels and cleaning the room, otherwise they don't do that.On the top of the hotel there is a restaurant which provides you practically any kind of food you prefer: Indian, Chinese and continental.

Pros -Very few hotels are there in varanasi which have such an amazing Ganga view (Alka, Sita, Dwivedi etc.). This hotel is bang on the ghat. You will get a wow view from almost 4-5th floor height as it starts from there. Our Ekaant Suite room had a balcony facing Ganga which was marvellous with chairs to relax for hours. Select river rooms otherwise the rooms inside are blocked from all sides and dark as other hotels. Though river facing rooms are costlier.Rooms have Kettle, tea, sugar, toiletries, 24??7 hot water, table, chair, Window AC (need to maintain). Bed linens are super clean and beds are very comfortable.Just beside the sacred Dashawamedh ghat. There is a narrow road and staircases which will directly give access to ghats within 5 min. Remember, in Varanasi you must not complain about walking dirty gallis and managing staircases.The view from the rooftop restaurant is also marvellous and ganga facing. Food is freshly prepared and very tasty. Breakfast was limited but good options - Aloo paratha, Corn flakes, milk, bread, butter, jam, mango juice, fruit custard, eggs, tea.The front desk and restaurant staff are always smiling and ready to help. Even they will keep on sending guides to help you navigate the famous narrow galis of Varanasi. Remember if you want a view from a hotel, you need to manage super narrow, often dusty lanes. Otherwise you need to stay away from river and ghats.Reaching ghats will take time and rooms will be blocked from all sides as it is the oldest city in the world.Call the front desk before reaching. They will send guides who will pick up all the luggages. You need to get down at Madanpura. Traffic will be blocked at Bangali tola after morning 8 till 9 PM. So you need to walk with your luggages till Madanpura which will take 15 min.Cons -The hotel is deep inside ancient Varanasi city and above the 1000 years old ghats. So you should be ready to navigate through semi dirty gallis. And that's the actual Varanasi for you.The Ekaante suites are only names. You will get a normal 10 by 12 rooms with attached toilets. The suites are actually rooms with balconies or terraces only. We booked suites, the picture showed a round shaped room. But we got a rectangular suite room. The hotel is going for renovation and as per them the room sizes will be made bigger. 7000 per day (4 people) was not at all justified. We paid for the view only. Though that was awesome.Rooms floors need more cleanliness especially the corners that need to be cleaned.The balcony chairs faded. Need to be replaced.We needed to skip complimentary breakfast on the last day as we needed to catch the morning train. We asked for simple dip tea at 7.30AM. The restaurant guys refused upon requesting twice. Though the restaurant manager was not there at that time.Food at restaurant are overpriced. 2 papad costs 60. Food quality was good though.

Dwivedi hotels palace on steps...if viewed from the point of view of location, there are two entry/exits. Road towards Madanpura is extremely dirty and the other road leading to Dasaswamedh Ghat is undoubtedly the best part of staying in this hotel... The river facing rooms have awesome view but needs renovation..The manager Mr.Ajay Chakraborty is very cooperative and helpful.. The staffs are good..Service and food quality is quite good.I would love to stay there if I go to Varanasi, provided the road becomes cleaner.

Dwivedi Hotels Palace On Steps is a true gem in Varanasi! The room was comfortable and traditionally styled, with a breathtaking view of the Ganges. Its top location makes exploring easy. The staff were warm, helpful, and arranged great local tours. Highly recommended for anyone who truly wants to savor the place and its traditions!
