Unprofessional and DiscriminatoryThe Staff at The Shakuntala Palace are making up "weird rules" that are not found in any official documentation. I was told by the receptionist that guests staying in the same room must have the exact same last name, or we would be forced to pay for an extra room for our third guest. This rule is not listed on their site or any major booking platform.Coming from Tamil Nadu, where we don't add caste names to our names, it felt like the staff was probing for our caste identity through this arbitrary "last name" rule. It was a very distasteful and unwelcoming experience. I highly condemn such discriminatory behavior at a place of business. For a "Heritage Hotel," the hospitality is extremely poor and unprofessional. There are much better places in Lucknow to stay where guests are treated with basic respect.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. The bedsheets were not clean, and even the pillow covers seemed unhygienic, which made the stay uncomfortable. Additionally, the AC was not working properly, adding to the inconvenience.The only positive aspect is the location, as the hotel is conveniently situated near a metro station, making travel easier. However, overall cleanliness and maintenance need significant improvement.
