Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR

Service was slow and unsatisfactory, ruining the surprise I had arranged with my team. The AC stopped working in the middle of the night, and there was no option for a firm mattress on the king bed.

My family and I had a very frustrating and disappointing stay at Taj Surajkund. As a loyal Taj customer, I expected much better service, honesty, and hospitality, but this visit was well below even basic standards. At check-in, I was asked to pay ₹1,500 more than the price in my booking. I showed the printed confirmation email from Taj with the correct package price and room upgrade fee, but the staff ignored me and insisted on the higher charge. For a pre-booked package, this was very unprofessional and unnecessary. A guest should never have to argue at reception to pay the confirmed price. The situation worsened when the high tea included in my package was initially denied. It took over five hours and repeated internal talks before it was finally served. This is not the experience expected from a hotel that promotes premium hospitality. Such delays and confusion cause inconvenience, frustration, and loss of trust in the front desk. During lunch, I asked for one unfinished item to be packed. However, the attendant, Mr. Kishan, after consulting Mr. Parmod, Supervisor, refused, saying it was against policy. What made this worse was that later at dinner, I saw the same staff happily packing food for other guests, including multiple items for several people. This selective enforcement of "policy" was shocking and unfair. If allowed for some, refusing others raises serious concerns about consistency, professionalism, and guest treatment. What disappointed me most was not just these incidents but the overall attitude. There was a clear lack of courtesy, consistency, and respect for a paying guest. Instead of resolving issues smoothly, the staff caused unnecessary friction, making the stay stressful and unpleasant. I have stayed at many Taj hotels over the years in Mumbai, Aurangabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Chennai, Indore, Bhubaneswar, and more. I have always admired the Taj brand and trusted its service standards. That is why this experience was so upsetting. This was the first time I faced such poor handling, careless communication, and frankly cheap behavior at a Taj property. I sincerely hope management takes this incident seriously and ensures no other guest faces such disappointment. A brand like Taj should be known for fairness, transparency, and hospitality—not confusion, inconsistency, and selective service.

I enjoyed my stay at Taj Surajkund. The rooms were kept in excellent condition, and the restaurants offered delicious food, especially the in-house Vista restaurant with its wide range of cuisines. We appreciated Kushi's attentive service during our breakfast. The resort also offers many activities, which adds to its appeal.
