The location was perfect and easily accessible, complemented by beautiful jungle and well maintained pool that added to the relaxing atmosphere. The spacious rooms were spotless. Overall experience truly worthwhile.

Resort completely blends with nature. You can have a calm and pleasant stay. I completely recommend it. Food was great and all the staff treats you well. Road to resort is steep uphill drive carefully.

We stayed at Hive Wayanad yesterday, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations.The biggest issue was the complete lack of Wifi throughout our stay, from check-in until check-out. When we raised the issue several times with the reception, we received different explanations each time. First that it was because we were using an iPhone which is absurd, then that too many users were connected, and later that some maintenance work was going on. Regardless of the reason, guests shouldn’t have to deal with connectivity issues without a proper solution, especially when reliable internet is an important amenity nowadays. I had pending work to complete, and the poor connectivity caused major inconvenience. Mobile network coverage was also extremely weak, with stable signal available only from the balcony.Another disappointment was the smart TV in our room. The screen was cracked, and the system was extremely slow, even basic navigation took close to a minute to respond. Combined with the lack of Wifi, the TV became practically useless. Since we had booked two rooms, we noticed the TV in the other room worked better because it had a set-top box installed.One more thing I noticed was that the staff seemed to be trying very hard to impress by communicating only in English. While I understand that guests come from outside Kerala as well, it would feel more natural and welcoming if the staff also comfortably used Malayalam with guests from Kerala. I live in Europe and explored many premium properties and I can tell speaking English alone doesn’t necessarily create a premium experience.What disappointed us the most was that even after clearly knowing about our poor experience, none of the staff members were ready to apologise or acknowledge the inconvenience during checkout. A simple apology would have made a difference. While we were having breakfast, a staff member named Minakshi approached us and asked for our feedback regarding both the food and our overall stay. She was genuinely apologetic after hearing about the issues we faced, and we truly appreciated her attitude and concern. I’m quite sure she would have informed the management about our experience. However, despite that, it was disappointing that no manager or senior staff member came forward to acknowledge the inconvenience or offer even a simple apology during checkout. The only person other than Minakshi who genuinely stood out was the driver who took us from the reception to the cottage, he was very pleasant, polite, and genuinely helpful throughout.On the positive side, the rooms are decent for the price, and the balcony overlooking the forest is definitely a highlight. The breakfast was okay too, although the non-vegetarian options were limited. The only non-vegetarian items available were masala omelette (not live-made) and chicken sausage. A live counter would have improved the breakfast experience significantly.The pool area was well maintained and enjoyable. They also had indoor games like carrom board and chess set up near the pool, which added a nice touch to the overall experience.Overall, we have explored almost all the top-rated properties in Wayanad, and unfortunately, Hive Wayanad did not live up to our expectations and I personally wouldn’t recommend it to any friends / family.
