The Wayside Farm Cottage Munnar

I reserved two rooms at this resort for my family after reading online reviews. The host, Mr. Sanil Kumar, contacted me to ask about our arrival time, and I told him 22:00, which he accepted. He then requested original hard copies of our IDs for registration. Upon arrival, one staff member took our original IDs and disappeared. We were shown our rooms, which were cramped and had extremely dirty bed linens covered with hair on the bed and pillows. We were shocked by the huge difference between the online pictures and reality. Since we had family and kids, we couldn't do anything that night. I asked the host to return our IDs, but he said they were with the staff. I went to the room to sleep, but it was so filthy I couldn't rest, so I spent the night in the car while my family managed somehow. The next morning, we decided to check out and informed the host. Remember, we still hadn't gotten our IDs back. The host said he would send staff for checkout and luggage, but despite repeated calls, no one came. Carrying luggage was difficult because the resort is below road level and requires going up a steep slope. Frustrated with the host's behavior, we carried the luggage ourselves. When I asked for our IDs, which had been with the staff all night, Mr. Sanil Kumar said they were still with the staff and asked us to wait. After waiting with no result, I lost my temper and demanded our IDs immediately. The host then claimed we hadn't given him our IDs, which shocked and angered us. My father confronted him, and after a heated argument, I asked the host to call the police. Only then did we get our original IDs back. I paid INR 12,500 for two rooms, which was a total waste. My family lost peace of mind, and everyone, including two kids, was devastated. We left the property immediately after retrieving our IDs.

Just that TV was not working, remain it was a good stay!
