Mangalore International Airport (officially Mangaluru Airport) is a key aviation gateway in Karnataka, serving the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. Established in 1951, the airport has grown into a modern facility following major upgrades, including a new terminal inaugurated in 2006. It is a primary point of entry for business, tourism, and the large expatriate population traveling between India and the Middle East.
Spread over 867 acres, the airport supports over 1.8 million passengers annually and is equipped with advanced navigation and ground handling systems. Its strategic location and connectivity play a vital role in the economic development of the region, linking Mangalore to major Indian cities and international destinations.
Mangalore International Airport offers direct connections to major Indian cities and key international destinations, especially in the Middle East. The airport is a preferred choice for business, leisure, and expatriate travelers.

Prepaid and metered taxis are available outside the arrivals area. Ola and Uber operate with designated pickup zones. Typical fare to city center: ₹600-800. Travel time: 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic.
Hotel-operated and private shuttles serve select city locations. Confirm availability with your accommodation in advance.
KSRTC Vayu Vajra buses connect the airport to central Mangalore, with limited frequency (4-6 services/day). Fare: ₹150-200. No direct metro or train service to the airport; nearest railway station is Mangalore Central (about 18 km).
Parking is open 24/7 with security and CCTV surveillance. Early arrival is recommended during peak travel periods.
