Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) is Bengaluru’s primary international and domestic airport, located in Devanahalli, approximately 40 kilometers north of the city center. Opened in 2008, the airport is named after Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bengaluru. As one of India’s busiest airports, it serves as a major hub for passenger and cargo traffic in South India, supporting over 37 million passengers annually as of 2023. The airport is operated by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) and is a key gateway for business and tourism in Karnataka, with ongoing infrastructure expansion to accommodate future growth.
