Ajit Bhawan - A Palace Resort

My visit to this royal historical palace hotel and restaurant was a truly unforgettable experience. The property beautifully preserves its rich heritage,The staff was responsive attentive greets khamma ghani a royal rajasthani culture.

The service we received here was outstanding. A specific point that made our experience here deeply memorable is the attentiveness and kindness that every single member of the staff showed us over the course of our stay, we were greeted with a smile by anyone we came across, and the people who served us took specific note of our food and drink preferences, going the extra mile to provide us tailored and thoughtful service in ways both big and small. The rooms, gardens, and pool were also exceptionally well kept and beautiful. Will absolutely be staying here again the next time I’m in Jodhpur.

Our recent one-night stay at Ajit Bhawan left us with very mixed feelings.To begin with, the property itself is beautiful. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and aesthetically pleasing. The reception staff and initial hospitality were warm and welcoming, which set the tone for what we expected to be a true five-star experience.However, beyond the check-in, the experience fell significantly short.During lunch, we felt clearly overlooked. While foreign guests seemed to receive prompt and attentive service, we had to repeatedly call the staff (4’5 times) just to place an order. The food took a long time to arrive, and there was no flexibility or customization offered for children’something that is typically standard in five-star hotels. This was quite disappointing, especially since we were traveling with kids.In the evening, the situation worsened. We waited nearly 20’25 minutes without anyone attending to us. Even after raising the issue and speaking to the manager, the response from the serving staff was rude and dismissive. There was a clear lack of professionalism and basic courtesy.Another major issue was the Wi-Fi. We specifically needed it for our child’s online class, but there was no connectivity for nearly 45 minutes. By the time we were informed that there was a technical breakdown, the class had already started and we had to rely on a mobile hotspot. The lack of internet also meant we couldn’t use the TV for the kids. For a five-star property, such a basic infrastructure failure’especially without timely communication’is unacceptable.The pool facilities were also underwhelming. For a family-friendly property, the absence of proper kids’ floats or even a basic air pump was surprising. The one available float was under-inflated and not suitable for children.Dinner was another letdown’the food was excessively salty and inedible. The dessert (tres leches) was honestly one of the worst we’ve had.To their credit, the manager did meet us, apologized sincerely, and handled the situation with courtesy. Kudos to him. The next morning, at breakfast, we did receive much better service’almost a ’royal treatment.’ However, that raises an important point: guests should not have to complain to receive the standard level of service expected from a five-star hotel.Good service should be consistent and unbiased, regardless of whether guests are Indian or non Indian . When you are paying for a premium experience, basic attentiveness and respect should come naturally’not after escalation.Overall, while the property has great potential, the lack of staff training, inconsistent service, and basic operational gaps made this a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, based on this stay, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a true five-star experience.

Wonderful decor in historic surroundings, very tastefully blended with modern facilities. Every meal was a feast in it's own, tasty dishes reflected the Rajasthani culture. The Staff went an extra mile to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Well done guys and gals.

We loved the hotel and using it as a base to explore Jodhpur, as well as have some downtime. It's an iconic place to stay, staff, facilities and food were all great. Of the staff, Nikita and Sharif deserve a special mention for their kindness and invaluable assistance
