"A special mention must go to our guide, Mr. Vishal, who looked after us exceptionally well. His deep knowledge of the city's history and his ability to navigate the vibrant chaos of the ghats made our experience seamless and deeply enriching. He was professional, patient, and went out of his way to ensure we felt comfortable and well-informed throughout our tours. If you stay here, do ask for him’he truly elevates the entire experience!"

I stayed at Amritara Suryauday Haveli from 10–12 April, and the experience was highly disappointing, especially considering the premium pricing.🚫 Major Issue – Accessibility (Serious Concern)There is no proper road access to the hotel. Guests are required to:•Walk लगभग 1 km through very narrow, crowded lanes•Carry luggage manually•Manage completely on their ownNo car or auto can drop you near the entrance. This becomes extremely difficult at night and is not safe or convenient, especially for families or senior citizens.If you are arriving from Delhi (even via Vande Bharat), reaching the hotel becomes a complete ordeal after a long journey.Even more concerning:•No proper pickup or assistance•Calls are not answered when guidance is needed🧑‍💼 Service Experience•Reception: Very poor, unhelpful, and indifferent attitude•Security & Housekeeping: Cooperative and decent•Overall service does not match the price point💸 Value for MoneyAt these rates, one can stay at top global 5-star hotels offering far better:•Access•Service•ComfortThis property is not worth the money charged.⸻❌ Final Verdict•Very poor accessibility•Weak front office management•Not suitable for luggage / elderly / late-night arrivals•Overpriced for the experience offered👉 Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.Agoda being premium customer of yours this was actually a scam.

If you're looking for hotel in Varanasi near the ghat and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, this is a perfect place to stay at Amritara Suryauday Haveli for a heritage experience with river views. The food was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the chef or staff. The Hotel doesn't serve alcohol but that wasn't a problem. They have a beautiful rooftop restaurant along with a waterfront balcony just off the courtyard and if you get up early enough, you can watch the sunrise and every day life unfold in front of you as the day starts. All of life happens on this river and you can experience it all if you want. Personally I think the experience is a must for all world traveler's and I would thoroughly recommend it and this hotel is perfectly positioned!

Not recommended, especially for elderly travelers or anyone with mobility issues.Pros:’The terrace view is beautiful.’Staff are very warm and courteous and genuinely try to help. This review is not a reflection of their attitude, which was excellent.Cons:’Extremely difficult access to the hotel.The final stretch is through dark, uneven lanes where no vehicle can enter.I was traveling with my 70+ year old parents who require wheelchair assistance at airports, and reaching the hotel was extremely difficult. While the staff helped with wherl chair everytine we came out - just the verry bumpy ride in wheel chair thru the street made our parents not venture out’One of them almost fainted from exhaustion after walking through the lane late at night.Impossible to reach the hotel by phone.I tried calling the property multiple times before arrival using the number on Google and their website..Even Cleartrip said they couldn’t reach the property, which was surprising.’Breakfast is extremely poor.Very limited spread and mediocre quality.’For a hotel costing ’20,000+ per night, this was one of the worst breakfast experiences I’ve had.’Value for money is very poor given the price and overall experience.Management response was underwhelming.After explaining the difficulty my elderly parents faced, the only compensation offered was ’lunch on us.’’Side note: Losing the room key costs ’1000, so keep it safe.Summary:’Lovely staff and nice terrace view, but poor accessibility, weak management, and very poor value for money.’Fully avoid if traveling with elderly people or anyone with mobility issues.

Varanasi is one of these spiritual locations where you should not expecting a 5-star hotel. But I give this a high rating because of the location, history of the hotel, excellent service and great breakfast buffet (small but mighty).Things to note:Lots of small alleyways in Varanasi which means getting to the hotel involves walking about 5 minutes in these to get to the hotel. (Thank goodness for the staff schlepping our luggage!)Lots of steps to get to the river (out of the hotel and then out to the water).Room WiFi slow but go out to the patio area!Make use of the high tea! Both days had something different and again, small but interesting selection.
