What should have been a comfortable and smooth trip turned into a physically exhausting and incredibly stressful ordeal due to deceptive management and zero regard for elderly guests.Upon arrival at Derby Green, my parents were subjected to a classic "bait-and-switch." The management told them they were being redirected to stay at their sister property, Club Mahindra Danish Villa. To get them to agree to this change, the staff explicitly promised that the facilities would be identical and, most importantly, that they would be given a ground-floor room to accommodate their age and mobility needs.It was a complete lie.When my elderly parents reached Danish Villa, the reception team flatly denied them a ground-floor room, claiming none were available. They were shoved into a first-floor room, forcing them to painfully climb up and down stairs every single time they wanted to leave.Why you should avoid booking here for elderly family:Total Disregard for Special Requests: The Agoda booking explicitly highlighted that the guests were senior citizens and required appropriate room placement.Empty Promises to Force a Relocation: Staff will promise absolutely anything (like guaranteeing ground-floor access) just to push guests to a different property, with zero intention of honoring it.Zero Internal Communication or Empathy: Shunting elderly people between properties and then making them climb stairs displays a complete lack of basic human consideration and hospitality.Club Mahindra completely failed my parents. If you are booking for vulnerable or elderly family members and expect a resort to actually honor their commitments, look elsewhere. This management cannot be trusted.

Worst experience at Club Mahindra Derby Green. The management is very poor. We were a group of 5 families and had pre-booked our stay together, but despite that, they allocated rooms far apart from each other. Two rooms were on one floor and the other rooms were elsewhere, which was very inconvenient, especially since we were traveling with children.To make matters worse, it was raining, and the resort did not even provide umbrellas for guests. The overall coordination and guest service were disappointing. I would not recommend this property for family groups looking to stay together.

Good Family-Friendly Stay at Club Mahindra Derby Green, OotyWe stayed at Club Mahindra Derby Green for three nights during our Ooty trip and had a pleasant overall experience.What we liked most about the property was how family and kid-friendly it is. There is a dedicated outdoor children's play area, an indoor activity room, and plenty of open space for kids to enjoy. As parents traveling with a child, these facilities made a big difference and helped keep our little one engaged throughout the stay.The property is surrounded by beautiful landscaping, with well-maintained gardens and some stunning large flowers that add to the charm of the resort. The peaceful atmosphere and greenery make it a nice place to relax after a day of sightseeing.The staff were courteous and helpful, and the overall cleanliness of the property was good. The restaurant was also well maintained, and we enjoyed the food and service during our stay.Like any property, there are a few areas where improvements can be made, particularly considering the age of some facilities. However, none of these issues significantly affected our experience.Overall, Derby Green offers a comfortable and enjoyable stay, especially for families with children. If you are looking for a property with good hospitality, decent food, beautiful gardens, and activities for kids, this is certainly a good option to consider in Ooty.

Had a wonderful stay at The club Mahindra Hotel in Ooty! The rooms are incredibly classy and exceptionally well-maintained, offering a very comfortable and clean environment.’A special shout-out to the reception staff, who were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our entire visit’excellent hospitality makes such a big difference. We also really enjoyed the food; everything tasted great and was well-prepared, though it is worth noting that it's a little on the pricier side.’Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and the quality of the stay and service more than made up for it. *Great hill station stay with amazing food ’ just extend the play area hours* ’’’’’We stayed at Club Mahindra Derby Green, Ooty for 2 nights and the overall experience was great.*What we loved:*- *Food*: Absolutely amazing. Every meal was delicious and there was great variety. This was hands down the highlight of our stay.- *Ambience*: Beautiful property with a true hill station vibe. The views and the calm atmosphere made the trip special.- *Service*: Staff were warm and attentive throughout.*Note*: Rooms felt a bit small initially, but we realized that’s pretty standard for hill stations. It didn’t take away from the experience.*One suggestion*: The play area/kids zone currently closes at 9 PM. Most tourists visiting nearby spots only get back to the resort around 7-8 PM, so that leaves very little time to use it. Extending it to 10 PM would make a big difference for families.Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this resort for anyone visiting Ooty. Will visit again!
