Gateway Varkala

Our time at Gateway Varkala was truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, we experienced outstanding hospitality and sincerely warm, friendly service. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are lovely and cozy, and every aspect contributed to a peaceful stay. I brought my parents here to celebrate their anniversary, and the staff went the extra mile to make it memorable. Even though it was a last-minute request, they provided a delightful eggless anniversary cake, which meant a lot to us. One of the highlights was the sapling planting activity. It was such a thoughtful and meaningful gesture—it really felt like we were leaving a little piece of ourselves behind, making this place even more special. We also took part in the local tour organized by the hotel, which was wonderful. It offered us a great insight into the culture and beauty of the region. A big thank you to everyone who made our stay so special, especially Mr. Sudeep, whose kindness and attention to detail truly made a difference. We left with cherished memories and are eager to come back. Highly recommended!

View is good, staff is good but not Taj like services. They were out of stock for butter in breakfast. Like seriously. For a Taj property thats something gross.

Truly a fantastic place that is worth the expense. The receptionist was very polite and helpful, and the rest of the staff were also good.

Had a very pleasant stay at Gateway Varkala. The accommodation was comfortable, and the hospitality was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and always ready to help, which made the experience even better.The property does feel a bit old and could benefit from better maintenance in a few areas, but it still has a charming and relaxing atmosphere. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained, and our kid had a great time there.The breakfast buffet was one of the highlights of our stay, with a good variety and excellent quality. The resort is also conveniently located close to the Varkala cliffs and the beach.During our visit, the private beach access was temporarily restricted as the resort was planning to expand and improve the pathway to the beach. It wasn't a major issue since the main beach and cliffs are nearby.One interesting observation was that there doesn't seem to be an off-season anymore’the hotel was completely full during our stay.Overall, a wonderful place for a relaxing getaway. With a little more attention to maintenance, it would be an outstanding property. Highly recommended.
