My stay at Heritage Homestay was such a nightmare that I still feel annoyed thinking about it. I genuinely don’t understand how a place charging ’4,242.00 per night can be run with such carelessness and complete lack of basic hygiene.First, the entire place felt abandoned. Only two people were running the whole property, and most of the time just one person was wandering around, leaving everything else unmanaged. There was no food, no proper service, and no sense of responsibility. It felt less like a homestay and more like I accidentally walked into someone’s half-functional house.The room itself was the biggest disappointment. The moment I entered, I got hit by that stale, closed-up smell ’ the kind you get in a room that hasn’t been cleaned or even aired out properly. Hair strands were everywhere: on the bed, on the pillows, on the blanket. It honestly felt like I had walked straight into someone else’s used room. Even the corners of the room looked dusty, as if no one had cleaned them in ages. The lighting was so dim that it almost felt like they were trying to hide how dirty the place was.And then came the biggest shock ’ the so-called ’drinking water.’ They handed me reused Coca-Cola and Pepsi bottles that were scratched, cloudy, and filled with unsealed water. You could literally see bubbles floating inside like some cheap homemade refill. It was honestly disgusting. I wouldn’t even rinse my mouth with that water, let alone drink it.The bathroom was another disaster. The hot water didn’t work, the water pressure was pathetic, the pipes were leaking, and the whole thing felt like a setup for frustration. Taking a bath was nearly impossible unless I wanted to crouch under a thin drip of cold water. The bathroom floor didn’t even look freshly cleaned ’ just dull, wet, and uninviting. For the price I paid, this was unbelievable.But the final moment was the absolute peak of nonsense. During checkout, the owner casually asked me to leave a positive review in exchange for ’200. He even admitted they sometimes ask guests to leave reviews from their phone so they can type it themselves. That level of dishonesty actually left me stunned. Instead of fixing their problems, they’re trying to bribe their way into fake ratings.By the time I left, I felt irritated, cheated, and mentally drained. This place didn’t just fail to provide comfort ’ it actively ruined my mood and my stay.I strongly advise anyone who values cleanliness, honesty, basic hygiene, basic service, or even basic decency to stay far away from Heritage Homestay. This was one of the dirtiest, most mismanaged, and most frustrating stays I’ve ever had.
