(Room *** review) Pathetic room, AC not working, bed placed on cement platform 😂, smelly pillows, dirty washroom, paid 6500 for this room. You can book a decent room at lodge for 800 instead of this. Will not recomened to anyone to stay here. When I took this matter with the manager he was aware of the fraud and did not dare to even look at me. Manage agreed and allots other room which was also worst. No CCTV and fire protection in premises.

We stayed for one night at Horseland Hotel in Matheran and had a pleasant overall experience.The rooms are spacious and clean, but they are quite old and definitely need revamping. The furniture, bed, and mattress feel dated and could use an upgrade. The bathroom was clean and well maintained, although the faucets and fittings are old-fashioned. Hot water is available only during fixed timings (8am’11am and 5pm’7pm). Basic amenities like towels and soap are provided.Since we visited over the weekend, the hotel had arranged musical games, housie, DJ night, and a campfire. These activities were very entertaining and added a lively touch to the stay.There isn’t much of a view from most rooms except those close to the pool. The swimming pool is well maintained and ideal for a good swim. There’s also a small plunge pool for kids. Swimming costumes and tubes are available on rent.The staff was polite and helpful throughout our stay.The highlight of this hotel is definitely the food. If you are not planning to explore restaurants outside, I highly recommend opting for the all-meals package. The lunch and dinner spreads had a wide variety and tasted excellent. Breakfast was also good.The location is another plus point ’ close to the Matheran market and within walking distance from the Matheran railway station. Popular attractions like Echo Point and Charlotte Lake are also nearby.Overall, a good stay mainly because of the food, staff hospitality, and weekend entertainment. The property would greatly benefit from room renovations.
