And then there are rare places that offer something we have almost forgotten in our busy lives- silence.My stay at Eagles Nest, Dharamshala felt less like a getaway and more like coming home to myself.The journey requires a small effort, the cab drops you about 700 meters away and you walk the remaining distance. But somehow, that walk becomes part of the experience. With every step, the noise fades away and calm begins to settle in.What I found here was peace in its purest form. No adulteration. No rush. No distractions. Just the sound of the wind, the mountains standing quietly in the distance, and a stillness that gently slows your heartbeat.The staff deserve a special mention. They were incredibly kind, warm, and thoughtful throughout the stay. Their hospitality never felt transactional; it felt genuine.I arrived feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. The staff were exceptionally kind, warm, and considerate throughout my stay. Their hospitality felt sincere, not just a service. If you are seeking absolute reset and quiet only then head to the place. As it is very away!It was a delight to chat up with Shiela Vineet who have many stories to share about how they went ahead in caring for the space. overall upkeep, location for us, food taste and quality of hospitality was very warm, the nooks and corners to sit for inner work including the yoga hall and green house was idyllic!I sincerely think they need better kitchen and menu management. Food was tasty no doubt, however, it was not at all money’s worth to be served red chicken sauce 2 times, another time red sauce paneer, white sauce paneer 2 times and white sauce chicken another with rajma twice in the 4 days stay when we were clear we are there throughout for all meals. I have stayed at properties where all meals are included but the churning of menu and variety is way better and it was a thorough disappointment to see them churning same sauces again and again. While request for local food was entertained, in general variety is crucial to accommodate varied tastes and enhance the overall experience. Also, they can make paid services of yoga teacher, masseuse and a naturalist available to enhance the experience of the property which seems under-utilised for the absolute beauty and service it holds. Advance booking is required and that too the staff didn’t seem very sure or enthusiastic to provide. I hope to see the above changes for a more enhanced experience.
