Hotel Buddha’s Abode is situated right in the center of McLeod Ganj, near the main square. It's an excellent spot for wandering through local streets and trying Tibetan and international dishes from nearby eateries and street vendors. I had a long list of attractions and dining spots, all conveniently within walking distance. I requested room 301 and was definitely pleased with it. The room was roomy, clean, and bright, with stunning views of the mountains and village from two balconies. A short walk leads to the Tsuglhakhang Complex, the spiritual hub for Tibetan exiles and home to the 14th Dalai Lama, where one can experience important sites for teachings, rituals, and celebrations. I was particularly impressed by the large golden statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, along with statues of Avalokiteshvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion) and Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche, a fully enlightened being). Nearby, the Kalachakra Temple, dedicated to the “Wheel of Time,” features beautiful, detailed murals of 722 mandala deities. This temple is where His Holiness the Dalai Lama gives public teachings focused on the unity of all beings and the interconnectedness of the universe. I stayed alone for four nights and could have easily stayed longer if my schedule had permitted. I strongly recommend Hotel Buddha’s Abode as the perfect base to enjoy everything McLeod Ganj has to offer, both natural and cultural.

Disappointing Staff Experience

Hello Everyone. The room and bathroom are nice, but the staff's behavior is poor. When we requested plates and spoons, they said only limited crockery is available. We made tea in the electric kettle, and they said it is only for water, not tea. If you want to book this room, think carefully before doing so.
