Hotel Hi City Inn

I planned a road trip from Siliguri to Shillong and reserved this hotel as a stopover for my family through Agoda. We reached the hotel around 4:30 PM on Durga Ashtami, a major festival day in the East. There was no one at the reception, and we waited about 30 minutes before staff appeared. We were 5 adults and 3 children, booked for 2 rooms. The hotel listing clearly stated kids under 12 stay free, and all our kids were under 10. I had also provided their details during booking and showed this on Agoda. Despite this, the staff said they had no record and asked for extra payment for the kids. When I pointed out their policy, they denied it. Then, we were forced to wait in the balcony area for nearly 4 hours with the children, without any room given. Eventually, instead of fixing the problem, they cancelled our booking. We were left stranded in Guwahati on Durga Ashtami night, when most hotels were full or charging over ₹20,000 per room. This was very stressful and unsafe for a family. Another concerning thing: during those 4 hours, many couples came into the hotel hourly, making the place feel very shady. This hotel does not seem family-friendly at all. Agoda support was contacted but could not assist immediately, leaving us helpless. In summary: unprofessional staff, no respect for confirmed bookings, false policy claims, and a very unsafe experience for families. I strongly advise families to avoid booking this hotel. Not recommended at all.

The manager at the reception is very rude and asks for extra money to all the people who have booked the hotel rooms through online platforms. Even after paying the full amount he did not allow us to check in because we denied to pay him extra for the room and after complaining in the app through which I booked the hotel, they gave us the rooms keys which was like after 2 hours of complaining. The manager also misbehaved with us and did not even give us the room that we booked instead he regarded our room type and provided as a very very small room . Even after complaining about the issue about the room type they did not give the room I booked

Hotel staff charges extra 600 rupees even after informing the matter to Agoda and having assurances that the matter is settled between Agoda and hotel. The hotel staff charges me extra 600 checking . As it was 11 at night I had no other option but to pay

Staff behaviour was bad , they have provided us a used room without cleaning. When we told that to hotel reception the receptionist denied to accept it . He threatened us that will not provide room .
