Hotel Ishan - A Ganges Riverside Retreat by SALVUS

Directly in front of the room, looking down, there are a few buildings blocking the view. I didn't see any such photos on the hotel's website or MMT when booking. I felt very disappointed. When I asked the staff about the balcony view shown on the website, they said those pictures are from 10 years ago. Hotel Ishan is misleading with outdated photos. The room was average and did not meet my expectations for the price paid. I was there for a holiday and to see the Ganga view, which was really missing. The food was average, not great. There are no balconies in the rooms. The hotel does not have a swimming pool, despite pictures suggesting otherwise. The only positive is its proximity to Laxman Jhula, making markets and cafes easily reachable. However, I don't think I will stay here again.

The overall experience was extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable considering the amount charged for the room. The only positive aspect of the hotel was its location near Laxman Jhula and the gallery/view. Apart from that, the room condition, food, service, maintenance, and staff response were all far below even basic hotel standards.Since the morning, our room was not properly cleaned and was extremely dusty. The air conditioner was not working, and the geyser was also non-functional. Because there was no hot water, we were forced to take a bath using cold water. We reported these issues to the hotel staff, but no proper action was taken throughout the day.When we returned to the hotel at night, the same problems were still unresolved. After repeated complaints, we were finally shifted to another room. Unfortunately, the replacement room was also poorly maintained and had similar issues. Even the television was simply placed on a table in such a position that it could not be watched comfortably from the bed. the response from the staff was careless, unprofessional, and completely lacking in hospitality. We paid a high price expecting a clean, functional, and comfortable room, but the hotel failed to provide even the most basic facilities.This hotel appears to be charging guests primarily for its location, while the actual room quality and service do not justify the price at all. This caused us significant inconvenience, discomfort, and frustration during our stay.

My stay at Hotel Ishan was quite disappointing. The only good aspect was its proximity to Laxman Jhula and the nice view. Otherwise, the service was very poor, the staff behaved unprofessionally, and the food was of low quality. The rooms were not well maintained and did not match the high rates charged. Cleanliness, room condition, service, and guest support all require significant improvement. It seems the hotel mainly charges for its location rather than quality or hospitality. I wouldn't suggest staying here just because it's near Laxman Jhula. Please check recent genuine reviews carefully before booking, as there are much better options in Rishikesh at this price. Also, some posted reviews don't seem accurate.
