Shalom Backpackers Rishikesh

It's really disappointing to watch the quality decline month after month. I've stayed here many times over the last 3 years, and it's sad to see it deteriorate with each visit to the point where it no longer justifies the price. The cafeteria kitchen is closed, the hostel wifi has been turned off, and the water supply is unreliable. Over the past 2 years, the staff has been reduced to just two people. Dorm pillows are no longer cleaned and were covered in mold and black fungus. The pool remains largely inaccessible and was filled with algae and green sludge from rainwater drainage. It would be better if it were drained or covered. It's really upsetting to see the hostel's maintenance decline so much. Please address these problems and restore the place's vibrancy!

Comfortable accommodation with nice views.

We enjoyed our stay at the hostel overall. The vibe was nice, and the location was handy. Huge thanks to Pari, who was a fantastic host—super friendly, supportive, and always ready to help when we needed something. She made us feel at home and comfortable. The only downside is that the property could use some maintenance, as a few things require attention. With some care, this place could be even nicer. All in all, it’s a good spot to stay, and we would suggest it to others.

The rooms were small and the bathroom lock was broken, but the service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Additionally, the location offers one of the finest views in Rishikesh.

Extremely unsanitary living conditions. No water or electricity available. Staff are impolite and do not answer calls. We waited 12 hours to use the washroom, but there was no water. The whole room was covered in spider webs. A terrible place!!!
