Avoid unless you have no other better option!I would not recommend going for Hotel Prestige unless Mangalore leaves you with no other option.I stayed at Hotel Prestige for 4 days during an official work trip. I had reached around 8:30 am after an early morning flight, fully aware that standard check-in time was after 11 am. I politely requested an early check-in if rooms were available and was even willing to pay extra charges.From around 9:30 am onwards, I could clearly see guests checking out, but Mohsin at the front desk showed no interest in helping or coordinating. I waited patiently in the reception area, which itself was cramped, shabby, and uncomfortable. Since it was a Sunday, many guests waiting for the neighbouring Diesel Cafe occupied the same space, making the lobby feel more like a crowded railway compartment than a hotel reception.After barely sleeping the previous night due to leaving home at 3 am for my flight, the experience became even more exhausting. Mohsin finally offered me check-in at 10:30 am but demanded ’500 for just one hour of early access, which honestly felt unreasonable. He also refused to let me speak with a senior staff member. Eventually, I got the room only at 11:30 am.The room size was decent, but cleanliness was disappointing. Many switches and lights were not functioning. The walls had visible seepage and badly needed fresh paint. Bathrooms were not clean, and even basic essentials like toilet tissue paper were missing.I understand this is a budget hotel and did not expect luxury, but basic cleanliness, functional rooms, and courteous staff are the minimum expectations from even a 2-star property ’ and unfortunately, that was lacking here.One more disappointing experience was regarding my lost perfume bottle. I had accidentally left behind my Est??e Lauder Pleasures perfume in the room while checking out. I realised it soon after and immediately returned to the hotel, but the staff simply denied finding anything. I am 100% sure I had left it in the room. It was my mistake for not being careful, and I paid a huge price for it, considering the perfume costs around ’9,000.Another concern was safety of valuables. The room’s locker/safe vault was broken, and the hotel casually informed me that they no longer provide that facility. Guests should therefore be extremely careful with their valuables while staying here.The positives:The location is convenient and centrally placed.Diesel Cafe downstairs has a very good menu and great ambience. I genuinely enjoyed spending time there.Their other property, ’Fish Market,’ was decent.Complimentary breakfast was good.Overall, the hotel is below average even by 2-star standards. Rooms and bathrooms need much better maintenance and hygiene, and the staff attitude needs improvement. Consider staying here only if you plan to remain out most of the day or have absolutely no better option available and take good care of your valuables.

Also, the room safe was broken and no longer provided, so guests must be cautious with valuables. On the plus side, the location is central and convenient, Diesel Cafe downstairs has a good menu and atmosphere, their other property "Fish Market" was decent, and the complimentary breakfast was good. Overall, the hotel is below average for 2-star standards, needing much better upkeep and staff attitude. Stay here only if you plan to be out most of the day or have no other options, and be careful with your valuables.

Good location. I previously stayed there, about 1 yr back, that time stay was great. It was good breakfast. But , now I don't know what happened. Rooms price hiked, staffs atre not that great, breakfast quality reduced, rooms are not much clean and they charged me double than last time for a smaller room this time. And no dental kit or kettle and tea kit.

The location is good. I stayed here about a year ago and had a great experience then, including a good breakfast. However, this time things seemed different. The room prices have increased, the staff were less friendly, the breakfast quality went down, the rooms were not as clean, and I was charged twice as much for a smaller room. Also, there was no dental kit, kettle, or tea kit provided.
