La Sea Vue

I stayed at this place for an extended time, and each day felt special and delightful. The owner, Romi Trehann, personally attended to all my needs. The food was always fresh, clean, and made right when I wanted it. If I didn't want it sharp, she asked the cook to prepare it exactly how I liked. She checked with me daily about my meals and even brought food she cooked at her home. I can't call it a hotel; it's like a home with a mother caring for her guests like her own children. The place has a soul, which is Romi's big heart, like the sea just 200 meters away where I took morning walks. She even joined me so I wouldn't feel alone or lonely. On my birthday, Romi decorated the place with balloons and "happy birthday" signs. Guests staying there prepared a vegan dinner for me since I am vegan, gave me a gift, dressed sweetly, made a vegan cake last minute, and fed me with a spoon. I felt surrounded by family and loving friends, with music and singing happy birthday, all while Romi managed the hotel and her own challenges with humble smiles and a pleasant attitude. This wonderful and unexpected celebration was truly special. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. Romi moved me to a room closer to the beautiful porch where I could watch sunsets and sunrises during meals. The staff is dear and always smiling, making everything easy. I travel a lot for work and have never experienced a place like this, not in Japan, the US, or Europe. It's an amazing experience I would recommend to anyone just to enjoy such a unique place once in a lifetime.

La Sea Vue is **not a hotel**, though some online platforms misleadingly list it as one. It's a **basic homestay** offering modest-sized rooms. The property is located slightly off the main road, but the front desk staff were helpful and guided us well over the phone.During our **two-days stay**, breakfast was extremely limited—just **bread and omelet, or poori/paratha with sabzi**, and **tea or coffee**. There were no other options provided, which was disappointing.The **biggest letdown was cleanliness**. We were shocked to find a **giant cockroach inside the blanket**, which clearly points to poor housekeeping standards. The **only real positive** is the location—the beach is just a **3-minute walk** and is **visible from the property**. That’s about the only redeeming factor.Overall, we **won’t rate this as excellent**. It’s a **mediocre homestay that needs serious attention**, especially in terms of hygiene and guest experience.**Verdict: Avoidable.**

Here is the snippet of our experience:1. Almost beach side, 1 minute walk to the beach.2. There is kitchen setup at the rooftop. The cook prepares fantastic continental and Indian food. There is an uninterrupted view of ocean from rooftop.3. We booked the sea facing room with balcony. The room was spacious enough for a long stay. You have all the amenities in good condition as mentioned. We enjoyed the view of Arabian Sea from our balcony.4. The service was really prompt.5. Even though the area was very windy, the sound proofed door ensured that we had a good sleep.6. The property is 3-4 minutes away from the candolim main road and very close to all famous bar/restaurants but at the same time little away from the noise.
