I stayed at the hotel for one night, but honestly the room didn’t match the advertisement. There was a strong musty smell, and I noticed visible growing mold on the silicone seal around the bathroom’s glass sliding door.Although the breakfast had a good variety of local dishes, I started feeling unwell early that afternoon. I had stomach pain and diarrhea for the next two days.The moldy smell was so strong that it stayed on my pajamas, and I eventually threw them away because the odor wouldn’t go away.Also, during breakfast, the hotel staff asked to take a photo with me. I didn’t refuse at the time, but I didn’t agree to have my photo used for advertising. I hope the hotel will not use my image for promotional purposes without my permission.Overall, I believe the hotel has a lot of room for improvement, especially in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and guest comfort.

I visited and stayed at the property from 09/02/2026 to 12/02/2026 in connection with an LIC MDRT meeting.The location of the hotel is good and convenient. The food quality was also good overall. However, the service had noticeable delays in serving food, which needs improvement.The room was average, but the cleanliness of the washroom was below expectations. Covered parking is available, but large vehicles cannot be parked comfortably due to low roof height.The staff service was satisfactory but not exceptional. On Saturday evening, I visited the hotel bar with a few close friends for drinks and dinner. I am a frequent guest at premium hotels in Chennai, including The Westin, Taj Coromandel, and Sheraton Grand, and hence have a fair expectation of food quality and service standards from a Marriott property.During our visit, we ordered a seafood mixed platter, which unfortunately had to be sent back due to a strong foul smell and clearly stale fish. While our drinks were served well, the food quality was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.More concerning, by Sunday, all of us suffered from severe food poisoning, which we strongly believe was a direct result of the food consumed at your property.I immediately called the hotel and spoke to the Bar Manager, whose response was extremely casual given the seriousness of the issue. I was informed that I would be connected to the Food & Beverage Manager, however it has now been over two days with no call back or follow-up from anyone.For a hotel that is part of the Marriott portfolio, this level of food safety negligence and lack of managerial response is alarming. Unfortunately, the overall experience felt far below brand standards ’ frankly more like a roadside establishment than a premium hospitality property.I am deeply disappointed with the management’s approach and the absence of accountability so far. I request your immediate attention to this matter and would appreciate a formal response explaining:’How such a food safety lapse occurred’Why there has been no follow-up despite repeated communication’What corrective actions are being taken to prevent recurrence

Pleasant Luxury Stay

I had a pleasant stay at Le Royal M??ridien Chennai. The staff are very courteous, helpful, and always willing to assist, which made the experience comfortable.The hotel is an older property, but it is well maintained and kept in good condition. The swimming pool area is very nice and well maintained, making it a great place to relax.Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options covering almost all cuisines and preferences.One small disappointment was that the steam bath was not available during my stay, which was a bit inconvenient.Overall, it is a good hotel with friendly staff and quality service. I would recommend it and would consider staying again.

Comfortable Yet Dated Stay

Stayed at Le Royal M??ridien Chennai for a short stay close to the airport, and the overall experience was comfortable. Even with a New Year’s Eve party happening in the hotel, the rooms were very well soundproofed, so the kids could sleep easily and rest before our flight.The service was good throughout, and the staff were polite and attentive despite the celebrations going on. The location is convenient, and the stay was hassle-free.The rooms are spacious and neat, and the hotel is generally well maintained. However, this property has been around for a long time (originally opened in 2000), and some parts of the rooms and d??cor feel dated. A few updates in the rooms and interiors would make the stay even better and bring it more in line with current standards.All in all, it was a pleasant stay with comfortable rooms and good service, but a little modernization of the rooms would go a long way.
