Best hotel, gives entire vintage look. Everything here is excellent - staff, room, location, food. Must stay for anyone coming to the fort area

Overall, the stay was acceptable. Dated facilities are understandable given it is a renovated old building. However, the bathroom drain was clogged, causing the floor to flood while showering. The exhaust fan also shares a duct with the kitchen, so cooking fumes seep into the bathroom. Additionally, I found long hair on both the towel and teacup. As a solo male guest, I am unsure if it was left by housekeeping or a previous guest.

Our experience was quite disappointing. We came as a family for lunch and to snap a few casual photos with a small digital camera. However, a staff member informed us that photography was prohibited and that using a camera would be considered a "shoot" costing ₹7,000 per hour. We were only capturing some family moments, not conducting a professional shoot. What added to the confusion was seeing other guests taking photos and videos with their iPhones without any problem. If cameras are not allowed or if there is a ₹7,000/hour fee, this should be clearly stated on the website or at the entrance. Being told this only after we began taking pictures felt disrespectful and spoiled what was meant to be a nice family outing. Additionally, being told we were "randomly coming into a house and taking photos" was quite rude, especially since we were a family visiting, not a professional group. There is no clear photography policy on the website, yet the café is promoted on Instagram as an aesthetic and Instagrammable spot, which can easily mislead visitors about what to expect.

We specifically visited the restaurant. The food is truly excellent and authentic. The atmosphere and view are pleasant. Although the food is pricey, it justifies the quality and flavor. Kallappam and chicken mappas are especially tasty. The staff is friendly.

I stayed at the Mai Heritage property early this month. This is located at the heart of Fort Kochi and other prominent places around such a Jew Street, Synagogue, St. Francis Church etc are easily accessible from here. Though it is on one of the busy lanes, the property is tucked away and quite peaceful and tranquil and has a vintage charm to it. I stayed at a standard room and we were a family of three. I wouldn't recommend this room for more than two people though as the space was quite limited to walk around with an additional bed. The F&B is quite good here but if you wish to dine out, there are multiple options at walkable distance. The staff were warm and cordial. But we had to probe inorder to know about the restaurant timings, wifi etc. Also the towels were dirty and appeared to be used..hope they fix these. Overall a good option to stay at a budget!
