The property is amazing and located in a peaceful, quiet area. One of the highlights is being able to see the animals, which adds to the overall experience. They serve their own freshly prepared food, and every meal was delicious. The location is beautiful, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this property.

Me and my friends stayed at Oland for 3 days and we had a memorable vacation. It is located at the heart of Nilgiris and full of endemic, unique biodiversity. The property manager, Pradeep took us for a beautiful morning walk in the property where we got to spot many birds and wildlife. He patiently helped us to identify some of the birds with his bird guide. Their main chef Gokul wasn’t available when we went but Anbu made equally delicious food for us. I am already missing his chicken and biryani. The only thing that you should be prepared for is to walk/hike from the stay to the dining area for every meal. It might be challenging especially in the night. You can completely avoid it if you stay in the Estate house where the kitchen and dining area are located. We are definitely going to go back again for the food and biodiversity that they host.

Absolutely amazing stay at O'Land. The location amidst the misty nilgiri mountains feels like heaven. Their philosophy of nature and wildlife first must be applauded.I was on a solo break and the staff's friendly nature and approach made me feel comfortable and at home. The kitchen crew let by Chef Gokul served extremely delicious and homely food.Manager Pradeep was very helpful, and the birdwatch walk he took me on was a highlight of my stay.I had booked the mountain view room and the view from the balcony helped me unwind, relax, read and just be in the moment. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone wanting to spend some quality time appreciating nature.Note - their wifi is spotty at best and normal network coverage is not available most of the time. My room also didn't have a TV. This suited me as I was not planning to work from there and was on a digital detox.

Breathtaking Nilgiris Stay

10

The moment we arrived at O'land, the Nilgiris opened up in front of us in a way that made us stop mid-sentence. That view, wide and unhurried and layered with mist, set the tone for everything that followed. The entrance to O'land also doubles as the dining hall and only adds to the charm of this place as every meal came with that panorama as a backdrop. We stayed in the Hornbill House (5-min trek thru the plantation from the reception area / dining hall), and the entire experience was the life detox we didn't know we needed.A very special mention to Chef Gokul and his support staff; the meals were genuinely terrific. Thoughtful, warm, and cooked with real care. The kind of food that makes you slow down.Getting here is part of the experience. About an hour from Coonoor town, the drive winds through lush green tea plantations with the Nilgiris stretching out beyond them. One thing worth knowing: there's nothing within a 30-45 minute drive if you need urban supplies, whether restaurants, a medical store, or anything of that nature. Carry what you need before you head up. But that's not a limitation; that's the whole point of staying in a place like this.

Peaceful Nature Retreat

10

O’land Plantation Stay was everything I didn’t realise I needed from a short escape away from work and city life. Hidden within a tea estate about an hour from Coonoor, the property opens up to breathtaking layers of Nilgiri hills wrapped in mist and the sound of birds. The architecture by Biome blends so beautifully into the landscape that it almost feels like the forest grew around it. Reaching Hornbill House involved a scenic (some would call it adventurous) walk across a waterfall, and our stay at the Jackfruit Room - rightfully named so, as it quite literally feels like being perched atop a jackfruit tree- came with panoramic views that made it impossible to look away for too long. Troops of monkeys frequently passed by the trees, birds constantly filled the air with calls, and sitting by the window often felt like being hidden away in the canopy itself, quietly witnessing nature unfold around us. Despite the comfortable stay and scenic views from the room, the soulful outdoors made it difficult to stay in and luxuriate in some weekend laziness. The food was comforting, wholesome and unbelievably flavourful with thoughtful local touches. The guided nature walks were another highlight, led by an incredibly skilled naturalist who made the forests come alive through stories, bird calls and fascinating wildlife sightings. Spotting the famous hornbill, crossing paths with Nilgiri gaurs, and discovering vividly coloured insects and curious birds, went from being moments of mild shock/surprise to fascinating moments of fond wonder that will keep me coming back.O’land has a rare kind of magic to it, the kind that slows you down and gently reminds you how beautiful stillness can feel. The place has given me something I didn’t realise I needed so badly, the feeling of slowing down enough to notice things again. The mist settling over hills, unfamiliar bird calls at dawn, conversations with strangers turning into memories, and the quiet joy of simply being immersed in nature.Absolutely loved my time at O’land, it elevated my view on what a nature getaway should feel like! Highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away from the city, touch some grass, and stumble upon some adventure ’
