Oyla Cottage

Had a good stay at Oyla Cottage. The rooms are big, spacious, and have a lavish feel with comfortable interiors. One of the best parts of the stay is the beautiful view of Salem city, especially during the evening and night. The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, making it a nice place to relax away from the crowd. The only downside is that the property is a little interior, so reaching it may take some extra travel time. Food quality was decent, but options are limited as they mainly provide breakfast and dinner only. Overall, it's a good choice for people looking for spacious rooms, a calm atmosphere, and a great city view.

Booked this cottage with very high expectations from the positive reviews but our experience was very average.Bad service:The service was bad on day 1 as we were not informed prior about the non availability of dinner, tv not working, heater not working, no power etc. From day 2, it was better. No food:Though there are positive reviews about food, we had a very bad experience. We stayed here for 3 nights but hardly the kitchen was operational. Most of the time they gave reason like chef not available. Even when food was served the options were very limited like only idly and dosa for breakfast and chapathi and phulka for dinner. But whatever they served was good. This became a very big let down for us as we travelled with senior citizens and kids. There is just one app zaaroz, which delivers food from very limited restaurants but the cost is 3x.Zero views:There is no view at all as all the cottages are under renovation with another floor being constructed on the top. This blocks the view which I believe would have been available earlier without the new top floors.Good rooms:On the other hand, the rooms were very aesthetic, spacious and good and that is the only positive thing. We had booked this cottage only for good views and food and since both did not meet out expectations, our experience was disappointing.

I would rate Oyla Cottage 4 stars overall. The rooms are spacious and easily comfortable for a family. On our request, the staff even arranged a kids cot with a mattress, which was a thoughtful and helpful gesture. The location is excellent and very convenient, which is a big plus. The only downside we felt was the room environment during winter. Since the rooms are made of stone, they felt damp and quite chilly most of the time. There was also a noticeable damp smell, which did affect the comfort a bit. Additionally, some buildings around are still under construction.Apart from these points, the stay was pleasant, and with a little improvement in ventilation and dampness control, it could be a great place to stay.

Very neat and well-maintained rooms. The staff is very polite. Excellent hospitality!! Room balconies offer lovely views of the scenic beauty. We got freshly cooked breakfast and dinner. We would love to come here again..

We have stayed last week , the night view from the room was amazing from the top of the Yercaud , friendly room service with so pleasing the stay was welcoming for family. Morning and night food was totally good with their inhouse preparation and service was keen and clean on time. We completely love the stay.
