Periyar Mountain Palace by Thavika, Thekkady

We had a very good experience staying at Periyar Mountain Palace in Thekkady. The property is huge and has a beautiful palace-like feel. The pathway leading to the property and the surrounding roads were amazing, and the views were absolutely beautiful. The overall location and surroundings made the stay feel peaceful and memorable.The room was a little small compared to what we expected, but it was beautifully designed and comfortable. The property itself is very beautiful, and the friendly and welcoming staff made our stay even more pleasant.During our visit, there was an LPG shortage in the area, because of which many restaurants were closed and we had very limited food options. Unfortunately, we couldn't experience much of the food at the property because of this situation. However, the breakfast was really good. We were running late while checking out, and the staff kindly packed the food for us, which was a thoughtful gesture and something we really appreciated.Overall, we had a good experience at Periyar Mountain Palace. The beautiful property, amazing views, peaceful surroundings, and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. The LPG shortage was an unusual situation during our visit and affected the food options, but apart from that, we had a pleasant and memorable stay in Thekkady.

Our stay at Periyar Mountain Palace in Thekkady was very enjoyable. The property is expansive and has a charming palace-like atmosphere. The road leading to the hotel and the nearby routes were stunning, offering breathtaking views. The location and environment contributed to a calm and unforgettable experience. Although the room was smaller than we anticipated, it was tastefully decorated and cozy. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and the warm, hospitable staff enhanced our visit. During our time there, an LPG shortage affected the area, causing many restaurants to close and limiting our dining choices. Because of this, we couldn't fully enjoy the hotel's food offerings, but the breakfast was excellent. When we were late checking out, the staff kindly packed food for us, which we greatly appreciated. In summary, our experience at Periyar Mountain Palace was positive. The lovely property, spectacular views, tranquil setting, and friendly personnel made our stay pleasant. The LPG shortage was an unusual circumstance that impacted food availability, but otherwise, our time in Thekkady was delightful and memorable.

Even before a month prior booking, when we reached to restaurant they denied of my booking. I have to fight and wait till an hour. Room TV was not working, dampness every where in the room. Hotel have restaurant but it's restaurant not cooking any foods inside. They have menu but if you order any items from menu, they will order to another outside restaurant and give it to you. They don't listen any cooking instructions. We have booked room with food in package. But food not received on time, clearly said at the time of booking that we need food without onion and garlic but after reaching at hotel, it was clearly ignored.

Even though I booked almost a month in advance, when we arrived at the restaurant, they denied my reservation. I had to argue and wait for an hour. The TV in the room was not working, and there was dampness everywhere. The hotel has a restaurant, but they don't cook food there. They have a menu, but if you order anything, they get it from an outside restaurant and serve it to you. They don't follow any cooking instructions. We booked a room with food included, but the food was not served on time. We clearly requested no onion and garlic when booking, but this was ignored upon arrival.

Very nice place to stay with family. Service is amazing.could have maintained the common area nicely
