AVOID THIS RESORT — Poor Hygiene, Insects, Difficult Access and Terrible Refund ExperienceOur experience at Silent Brook Resort, Coorg, was extremely disappointing. We booked a three-night stay but checked out after just one night because the condition and hygiene of the accommodation were unacceptable.1. Cleanliness and hygiene were appallingWe encountered insects and lizards/geckos in the bathroom and around the room. The photographs we took show the condition of the property, including visible grime, dirty surfaces and damaged areas. This is not the standard of cleanliness anyone should have to accept after paying for a hotel stay.2. Access to the resort is a serious problemThe resort is located well inside the main road, with a very narrow, steep and difficult approach. The access road was so uncomfortable and intimidating that entering and exiting the property felt stressful rather than safe. In places, the narrow route leaves very little room to manoeuvre, making it particularly worrying if you encounter another vehicle or need to reverse.The property is also very far inside, approximately 600m to a kilometre from the more accessible road as experienced by us. Once you reach the resort, going out for anything becomes inconvenient and feels like a major undertaking. This is not the kind of accessibility issue guests should discover only after arriving. The approach and access difficulties should be made absolutely clear before anyone books.3. You feel isolated once you are thereThe location may appeal to people specifically looking for seclusion, but in our experience, the combination of difficult access and the resort's condition made the stay uncomfortable. It felt as though we were stuck there rather than enjoying a relaxing holiday. The convenience and accessibility were nowhere near what we expected.4. No reasonable resolution or refundThe hygiene issues were serious enough that we checked out after one night of our three-night booking. We requested a refund for the remaining two nights, but the hotel refused.We did not leave because we changed our plans or simply decided to stay elsewhere. We left because the accommodation was unacceptable. Refusing to refund the unused nights, despite the circumstances, made an already terrible experience even worse.Overall: Extremely disappointing and not worth the stress. Basic cleanliness, safe and practical access, and reasonable customer service are minimum expectations. Based on our experience, Silent Brook Resort failed to meet those expectations.We have photographs documenting the condition we encountered. I strongly recommend that prospective guests examine the access arrangements carefully and ask detailed questions about room hygiene before booking. We would not return, and we cannot recommend this resort based on our experience.

The view around the property is blissful. The staff including Chef Pradeesh ,GM Nagaraj and everyone around is warm and courteous.Beautiful peaceful stay.

Very good hotel for nature lover and ease from hassle life. Good location but very stiff. Any way hotel provide vehicle for that.

Silent Brooks is, at least for now, a hidden gem in Coorg. Nestled, literally, in the middle of dense greenery, with a brook running on one side, it's a great place to spend a quiet weekend or a few days.Specifically, the rooms are large, comfortable, and stacked with a desk, sofa, chair, table, a large bed, and a modern bathroom. There is a small clubhouse, the dining area is large, and there's a fireplace, too. The staff is helpful, the chef will come and check on you at almost every meal! The food was very good, too.The rooms are on either side of a path that winds up from the entrance. And yes, it's a steep incline. You can walk on the path, or take the steps, or ask for a car the property has (a Mahindra EV) to take you.After you take the exit from the Madikeri-Mangalore highway (NH275), you have to drive about 800m on a not so good road/path, so be prepared for it. If it rains, or if the ground is slushy, your vehicle may struggle at a couple of places, so be prepared for that, too.Bottom line, the place is excellent. You can experience the quietude and comfort of Coorg from this place. And the views are gorgeous.
