Good Location, Mixed StayThe property offers decent value. with housekeeping standing out as a positive and the overall cleanliness and location being reasonably good. However, the stay was let down by poor staff service, an unsatisfactory bathroom, limited walkability, transport issues, anc disappointing Wi-Fi. Facilities were adequate rather than outstanding, making this a mixed experience overall

Location is a major drawback - very far from main attractions, so travel to sightseeing spots becomes expensive and time-consuming. There are no real activities inside the resort except the clubhouse, which is mostly occupied by kids. After your day trips, there is nothing to do but stay in your room. Found Coorg to be overrated overall, and this resort also overrated. Restaurant menu has no great options. Couldn't taste coorg or mangalorian food. Breakfast served was not worth the high price charged per night.

Beautiful property, but the service needs significant improvementWe stayed at Silent Brook for three nights, and there are definitely things we enjoyed about the property. The property itself is beautiful, our room was excellent, and the view from the room was lovely. We also had a very good experience at the spa. The staff we interacted with were generally hardworking and well-intentioned.However, for the price we paid, we expected a much more polished and hospitable experience, and this is where the stay fell short.From the beginning, there were a few room-related issues. The room had an unpleasant smell when we arrived, which appeared to be from cleaning, and we had to call housekeeping to address it. The intercom/telephone was located away from the bedroom, so whenever it rang, we had to get out of bed to answer it. There was no way to address this during our stay.More importantly, the bed was extremely soft and had a noticeable sinking issue on one side. We did report this and were told it had been fixed, but the problem persisted. By the end of the stay, we were experiencing back, neck and other body discomfort. The curtains also let in a significant amount of morning light, making it difficult to sleep beyond around 6 AM.The biggest concern, however, was the lack of prompt communication and follow-through from reception. On multiple occasions, we would request something and be told it would be sent, but it wouldn’t arrive, requiring us to call again. A request related to the geyser also took several hours and another follow-up call to resolve. These may seem like small things individually, but over a three-night stay they became frustrating.There was also some confusion around the dinner package. We weren’t informed that we needed to go to the restaurant for dinner, and when we asked about having it served in the room, the initial response wasn’t particularly accommodating. I eventually had to speak to the manager and explain that I had a foot issue and couldn’t comfortably make the trip to the restaurant. The manager was helpful and arranged room service, but it would have been better if this had been handled more proactively in the first place.The restaurant team deserves credit for trying. The chef was friendly, hardworking and genuinely interested in helping. However, there seemed to be limitations when it came to accommodating dietary preferences beyond the usual Indian/South Indian options. Since we stayed for several days, the alternatives became repetitive. There were also significant delays at the live breakfast counter — on more than one occasion, a simple egg order took 25–30 minutes to arrive, by which time the rest of the breakfast was already cold.Overall, our impression was that the property has excellent potential but needs better training, staffing and communication between teams. The people seemed willing to help, but the execution was often inefficient and required guests to repeatedly follow up.We genuinely wanted to love this stay because the property itself is so well built and the setting is beautiful. But at the price point, we felt that the service did not quite justify what we paid, and unfortunately left feeling that we had overspent on the experience.With better staff training, stronger communication between reception, housekeeping and the restaurant, and more attention to basic guest comfort, Silent Brook could be a much stronger experience.
