What was meant to be a comfortable stay turned into a lesson on how far a hotel can fall below even the minimum standard of professionalism.From the moment of check-in, everything felt like an inconvenience — not for me, but for the staff. Rude, untrained and visibly disinterested, the front desk felt less like a hospitality counter and more like a punishment cell. Every request, however basic, was treated as though it was an unreasonable burden that they were being forced to entertain.The rooms were even more disappointing. The pictures uploaded on various online portals are a complete sham — it is almost as if they belong to a different hotel altogether. The reality is the exact opposite: shabby interiors, poor housekeeping, barely functional amenities and an overall sense of neglect. Do not be misled by the photographs you see online; nothing in those images reflects what you are actually given.For the price they charge, the experience is not merely substandard — it is insulting. Basic cleanliness, comfort and courtesy — the fundamentals of any hotel — are missing here. What shocked me the most was the attitude during check-out. A polite intimation in advance regarding departure time is generally appreciated in any decent hotel. Here, it was met with rudeness, arrogance, and an utterly unprofessional tone that no paying guest should ever be subjected to.A hotel that fails on amenities can still earn some respect through good behaviour. A hotel that fails on courtesy and respect for guests fails completely. This establishment genuinely seems to believe that guests need them — not the other way around.If you value your peace, money and dignity as a guest, you deserve far better. Kolkata has many wonderful hotels. Unfortunately, this one does not belong anywhere near that category.
