The Altruist Katra Hotel

I booked this hotel based on the reviews, but my experience was quite different. If you are choosing this property because it offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, I would strongly suggest reconsidering. The food quality, especially breakfast, was disappointing ’ it was difficult to find anything satisfactory to eat.The room itself was decent, but considering the price, it does not offer good value for money, particularly when better hotels in Katra provide superior facilities and overall experience at similar or even lower rates.I would like to humbly request fellow guests, whether currently staying or having stayed here, to share honest reviews based on their own experience and judgment, rather than being influenced by the hotel.

Last week I stayed at Hotel AMR Altruist in Katra with my family during our Vaishno Devi trip. We had a two-day booking of two superior rooms and one deluxe family room for a group of eight people.Overall, our stay was good. The rooms were clean, the food was nice, and the service was satisfactory. Most of the staff were polite and helpful, especially the kitchen staff and the waiters. The day-time reception team was also cooperative. We didn’t face any major issues during our stay, and overall we were happy with the hospitality.However, there was one concern. The person on night duty at the reception, Brajesh, did not have a very pleasant attitude. On the first night, when we asked him about nearby markets, he responded a bit rudely. We ignored it, assuming it might just have been a bad moment.The bigger issue happened on our checkout day. As per the hotel policy, they provide complimentary drop to the railway station, which was actually one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Our train was at 5:45 AM, and I had already informed them the previous night. We were told to come down at 5:00 AM and that the car would drop us, it’s only around 2 km away.We reached the reception at 5:00 AM, but no one was there initially. After calling and waiting, Brajesh came, but even then the vehicle was not arranged. We kept waiting, and by 5:20 AM there was still no update. Since we didn’t want to risk missing our train, we decided to arrange our own transport. Early morning, it was quite difficult to find an auto, which added to the stress.If they had informed us the previous night that the vehicle wouldn’t be available, we could have planned accordingly. It wasn’t a last-minute request, everything had been communicated in advance. This part was disappointing, especially because the complimentary drop was a key factor in our booking decision.That said, apart from this incident, our stay was comfortable. I would still rate the hotel around 3.5 to 4 stars. Special thanks to the kitchen staff and service team, they really took good care of us.I hope the management works on better coordination and communication in the future.

I recently stayed at the altruist amr hotel and had a great experience overall. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and the amenities were exactly as described. The location was convenient and made getting around the area easy.A special shoutout to Brijesh and Prakash from the hotel staff ’ their hospitality truly made a difference. Brijesh was extremely helpful during check-in and even gave us local recommendations that turned out to be amazing. Prakash went above and beyond to ensure our room was comfortable and responded quickly to any requests we had.

I had an absolutely amazing stay! From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The food was delicious with great variety, and the service was top-notch throughout.The attention to detail and genuine hospitality truly made this experience memorable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and exceptional service. Can’t wait to come back!
