My stay was fantastic! The hotel employees were courteous, warm, and took great care of us. I forgot my gold necklace in the room, but the staff securely held onto it and gave it back to me. I sincerely value their integrity and outstanding service. Definitely recommend!

The stay at the Gawaling in Ladakh was quite disappointing. From the start, we were assured of a luxurious experience, which was far from what we got. The rooms smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. When I mentioned this to the concierge, they suggested upgrading the room instead of addressing the problem. Additionally, the concierge said all rooms were smoking rooms and that we should have requested a non-smoking room (supposedly luxurious!). Their final fix was to spray air freshener that only covered the smell for about 5 minutes or move us to a smaller room that also allowed smoking. On the positive side, the kitchen staff were very attentive and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
