The High-Point Inn & Suites

The service was terrible. The room itself was okay, but the AC was broken. The staff ignored calls and didn't offer any assistance. This has been my worst experience so far. Both receptionists showed no concern and blamed everything on the owner, saying it wasn't their issue. There was also no hot water in the bathroom.

Location wise its very good. However rooms are not that clean. Rooms are spacious but lags behind on facilities and maintenance. Food is good and its delivered from the restaurant downstairs. Our bathroom door was not closing properly. They do not have dedicated parking, we need to use common parking along with shops the first floor. Breakfast is fine but very less items and poor service, just couple of sound Indian dishes. Overall experience was just average, nothing great. There are far better hotels in Manipal for this price.

The rooms are a good size and well-lit, but that's about the only positive aspect. Some rooms permit smoking and the ventilation is poor, causing the smoke odor to spread throughout the hotel. Instead of addressing this, the staff sprays air freshener in the hallways, which actually makes the smell worse. The corridors and reception lack air conditioning or adequate airflow, making the common areas feel hot and stifling. Service was disappointing as well — the reception desk was often unattended, making it hard to get assistance. We later learned the receptionist was on leave, which explained the situation when we inquired the next day. Additionally, our request for room cleaning was ignored, so we stayed in a dirty room overnight. Considering it's Manipal, the prices are typical for this category, but that's not really a compliment. I'd recommend either paying more for a proper hotel or less for a basic one — this place is awkwardly in the middle. I wouldn't suggest it for anyone seeking comfort; it's only suitable if you just need a place to sleep for the night.

There is a lack of staff and the rooms are not cleaned even when requested. The reception staff seem either foolish, ignorant, arrogant, or possibly all three. They claim to offer room service for food, but no one answers the phone. Actually, my room didn't even have a phone when I arrived. The room lacks a refrigerator, the bathroom has no wiper, and there are no free toiletries. When I tried to raise these issues, no manager was available. Book and stay here at your own risk.

The room at High Point Inn is dirty, unkept used linen, old worn out towels, old furniture.No bath curtain in washroom, all the water spreads everywhere in the bathroom. When I asked for wiper, the staff refused. The staff is arrogant, untrained, just not interested. If give them certain instructions,they will not list. Then they will give excuses. The breakfast was just above pathetic.Overall a very very disappointing experience. I would recommend not to stay here.
