We reserved The Hobo homes - Varanasi for four days after viewing their Instagram posts and online feedback. The property is fairly new, with clean, spacious, and well-kept rooms. The bathrooms were also good, and the room quality exceeded our expectations. The staff were mostly polite and helpful. However, the booking and customer service experience was disappointing. The location is quite distant from the city center, and there is no cafeteria or basic food service like breakfast or tea. Due to the location, we wanted to stay only two days and pay accordingly, but customer care was rude and insisted we pay for all four days even if we left early. When we asked for flexibility due to unforeseen circumstances, the conversation became confrontational, and they even threatened legal action, which was unnecessary and uncomfortable. On the second day, although our room was booked for two nights, staff knocked and asked us to move to another room because another guest was arriving. Asking guests to relocate mid-stay is poor service and should be handled internally without disturbing guests. Additional points: no lift and our room was on the fourth floor; no cafeteria or breakfast/tea service; smoking is prohibited inside rooms, which guests should know in advance given the hostel-style property; the property is new and the rooms are definitely a highlight. Overall, the rooms are good and the property is clean and new, but poor customer service and booking management negatively impacted our stay. I recommend management improve communication, be more flexible with genuine situations, and treat existing guests better during their stay. We booked based on Instagram and reviews, so I wanted to share our real experience.

If you are a budget traveler looking for exceptional hospitality, absolute comfort, and a vibrant community atmosphere, this is hands down the best place to stay in Varanasi.From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They are incredibly helpful, friendly, and always ready with the best local recommendations to navigate the city. The entire property has a modern, contemporary feel that sets it apart from typical budget accommodations.The dormitory rooms are exceptionally clean, cozy, and well-maintained, providing the perfect setup for a restful night. One of the absolute highlights of this hostel is the dedicated playroom—it is a fantastic space to unwind, have fun with friends, and connect with fellow travelers from all over the world.With excellent amenities like free Wi-Fi, laundry service, and a smoke-free, welcoming environment, it truly feels like a home away from home. I cannot recommend The Hobohomes enough to anyone visiting Varanasi. I will definitely be back!

The caretaker is very helpful and the place is pleasant.

Very close to tourist spots in Sarnath. The dorm is air-conditioned. There are many good restaurants nearby. Easy to get to from Varanasi Junction. Just take the electric ac bus.
