STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Absolutely unacceptable experience at The Hosteller Coorg, Madikeri.We ended up leaving early because the hotel was so poorly managed and unsafe. Elevator not working have to go up three floors to the main lounge every time.Breakfast ’ which we paid for in advance ’ only starts at 8am, which is absurd for a hotel in a safari/travel region where people leave early. Even worse, when we finally got breakfast, it took nearly 45 minutes to arrive and the food was awful.The electricity kept cutting out repeatedly throughout the stay. The property itself felt neglected and dangerous. The worst part: my friend actually fell into an open pit/hole in the sidewalk area on the property and got injured. Completely unacceptable safety standards.Staff seemed disorganized, communication was poor, and overall the place felt chaotic rather than relaxing.We travel a lot and this was honestly one of the most dysfunctional hotel experiences we’ve had. We left early because we genuinely did not feel comfortable staying there longer.Would strongly recommend staying elsewhere in Coorg.

Hosteller is well-located with good accommodation value. The rooms are consistently clean and properly maintained. However, I strongly advise against using the cafeteria. The portion sizes are small while prices are significantly overpriced. For meals, explore nearby hotels and restaurants in the area’you’ll find much better quality and pricing there. Overall, stay here for the rooms, but eat elsewhere.

Cozy Spacious Dorm

It was such a cozy accommodation, and I’d say it was one of the best dormitories I’ve ever stayed in. There was so much space in both the room and the entire building. The top floor had all sorts of indoor games to pass the time. I would definitely recommend this stay to any solo traveler.
